    Thanks for the offer guys, but I'll probably end up spending it with the bf and close friends at a meal some place nice. Might go to the metal club after if I'm in the mood, but they seem to have sold out musically and play shite these days :(

    They don't play real metal any more :(

    We do have a decent rock/metal pub too, only opens until 11pm though. I used to go to their rockaoke nights on Wednesday which were ace. They had a 2 for 3 drinks offer, don't think they do that any more.

    Yeah, I know places that have lost it too. I also, many years ago, was on a night out with this Rock/Metal woman — and she somehow happed upon a dance club in my local town… that had a Metal section in a giant room sealed off upstairs! I don’t know how she managed it, but that night kicked arse! Plus the room had windows overlooking the dance floor, so it looked like all the townies were bopping around to Metal Grin.

    I realise that many of you wont know who I am, but I'm up for a Northern gathering. I'm sure Saif Rahman, who I know, would be happy to come along also?

    But if you're not comfortable meeting people who haven't posted much on here recently, I can understand that?

    We have suggested some dates in the thread. Just let us know how you are fixed for those dates and if you want to, you can suggest some places. Once we get a reasonable amount of numbers, we can press ahead with confirming via PM.

    was considering joining this shindig and showing you guys that us londoners aren't all selfishly assuming you should always travel to us.............but it does seem to be any old person can come even if they haven't been thoroughly CEMB tested.  :/

    Just want to add that if the dates specified are too early for people then feel free to suggest further dates. Just try to make them on Saturday please as it's the easiest time to travel.

    Also if anyone wants to travel up here and needs a place to stay then I have some room at mine (provided that I trust or have met you previously).

    I can totally understand if people are uncomfortable about certain forum members (particularly ones we haven't had a chance to get to know). We can keep them out and only allow trusted members (which I'm all for). Unless of course, if someone vouches for their trustworthiness in which case we should consider them.

    As Omaar has met him, I don't have any issues.

    Okay. Depending on where we go, I'll take some of the heat off picking up and dropping off based on the following:

    I'll pick up the folks living in my city and depending on where we are going, the people living in between the destination either north or south. So for arguments sake if the destination is Nottingham, I'll pick up those on the way. If the destination is Stockton-on-Tees on the other hand I'll pickup the folks on the way. You get the picture?

    I have a seven seater, so space isn't an issue. We just need consensus on a date an place.

    Bradford be my best preferred place, but i think i can do Leeds even though i don't know the place inside and out.
