A current thread has commented about the need for counselling, and this has come up in other threads.  In xianity, there is a psychologist specialising in religious trauma - Marlene Winnell. http://www.marlenewinell.net/

My background and experience includes work in similar areas but from a more general perspective of social and community work, business management and advocacy around disability issues.

I am experienced in what is called systems thinking, and have a concept of tackling issues from a person centred and community centred perspective.

Islam for various reasons seems to trap people in what are really very poor ways of being, and I would like to explore working with individuals on a private practice basis to work through issues.

This would not be specialist psychotherapy but a more general life coaching and planning exercise - writing a business plan with an individual.

Do people think this type of service might be valuable?  Suggestions?

When you are a Bear of Very Little Brain, and you Think of Things, you find sometimes that a Thing which seemed very Thingish inside you is quite different when it gets out into the open and has other people looking at it.
