    Have you ever watched a movie and thought 'that could be my life' or at least 'I would so do that, it sounds just like me'?

    I have lol

    i don't mean thinking you could be obi wan kinobe, or live on pandora, I mean more realistic movies, at least based in real life that have made you think I remember that, or that is like me.

    My movie is Burn After reading and the character is the one played by Frances McDormand.

    The movie is mostly about how much she wants surgery and the lengths she will go to to get it.

    Most of her friends die trying to help her achieve this dream goal, and at the end of it all, just to shut her up, the US government give her the money. and she gets her surgery.  Grin

    I mean talk about a caricature of me.  I mean I don't think I'd sacrifice my friends for my dream, but would I get over it?  Grin

    Of course not, I'd be devastated with my brand new body and fresh fake youthful appearance.  I'd look good as a mourned them, but mourn them I would.   Cheesy

    This thread makes me want to rewatch Burn After Reading. Awesome movie.

    Can't think of any character that reminds me of myself, though.

    Yea it was.  I had no idea what it was about when I watched it a couple of years ago but turned out to be an awesome movie in the end.  Hit home.  Grin

    The main girl from the Hunger Games book, we're both stubborn as fuck. We have so many similarities it was quite eerie reading the book.

    I haven't read the book or seen the movie, watched Battle Royale instead and saved myself the rip off.  Tongue

    Have you seen the hunger games and is she portrayed the same?  or would I have to know the book to know the character? 

    actually I guess that's a silly question, books are always more insightful than movies.

    the problem is I'm tempted to just say I identify with the coolest characters so I can pretend to be cool, they would be Clint Eastwood, Eli Wallach in Good the bad & the Ugly, they would be Bruce Lee in Enter the Dragon etc

    I think the best movies you can identify with all the characters thats what makes them good.

    Random one off the top of my head, there's been times when I feel like Eddie Murphy in Trading Places!

    I haven't seen the movie so can't say. However, I have seen Battle Royale and I personally prefer the Hunger Games. They have some very similar concepts (entrants have a 'battlefield' of sorts, they get weapons, they have to kill to survive and are told each morning who has died so far). But that's more or less it, the stories themselves are very different.

    The Hunger Games is vastly more complex with a great historical background to the 'games'. It has so many characters and places! Each unique with so much depth. It feels far more realistic, I got very annoyed at how illogical the reasons behind the 'games' in Battle Royale were (it doesn't even compare to the Hunger Games in this aspect). There is just so much to the Hunger Games which makes it so different from Battle Royale that it doesn't feel a rip-off. More like a mahoosive improvement Tongue

    I would definitely recommend that you give it a read.

    I love this thread! Great idea!
    There is this movie called "Into the wild" and Christopher McCandless, the main character, as we can also call him Alexander Supertramp, is definitely me. I don't really like to live in society and be surrounded by many people. Travelling, nature, and small little things in life make me happy. The movie was beautiful. I recommend you guys to watch it if you haven't. :-)
