Y'know, I've just stopped caring what is and isn't dubstep. Dubstep, garage, 2-step, post dubstep, future garage, dark swing. Most of my friends appreciate it all the same. Artists don't recognise category divides, put out all kinds of hybrid tracks, confusing matters even more. Good DJs mix it up, go for crowd mood rather than showcasing a genre. It all just blend into each other in a spectrum of sound to me.

It depends what conversation you're having I guess.

I'd tend to concur although some delineation is necessary to separate the mainstream from the underground. I mean brostep isn't UK soundsystem music to me but whatever, each to their own I guess.
