    Just found out they actually have a Green Party presidential candidate over there. Hasn't got a snowball's chance in hell of winning, but she looks a lot saner than the Republican women.

    Yeah Jill Stein and the Green Party are awesome. If I was a US citizen in a non-swing state, that's who I'd be voting for. But yeah no way in hell gun-swinging, fuck-the-environment, gay-marriage-so-scary, keep-women-preggers-always, centre-right-to-right-wing Americans are going to see a Green Party candidate win even one seat until they've ransacked the planet for a few more generations. They're still kicking and screaming trying to resist being pulled in to the Enlightenment era, never mind the 21st century.

    One thing that amuses me (more or less) is that Republicans always claim they want smaller government, but they always want to expand the size of the military (which is part of the gummint innit). I have to wonder if it's partly because conservatives, by their very nature, see themselves as constantly under attack.
