    1- Say Amina is an average muslim girl. Not overly religious, not overly non-religious. Doesn't pray, does fast, doesn't do hijab other than covering her head in public. She's grown up in a muslim country.

    2- Amina is married to a very liberal, westernized guy whom she likes (who is actually a closet ex muslim).

    3- He and Amina move to a country in the west.

    4- There, he wants Amina to dress western, e.g skirts, jeans, shorts, tops, bikinis, make up, etc.

    5- Would Amina be willing to do those things? If not, where would she draw the line, e.g, what would she be willing to do out of the things mentioned above?

    I can't help but ask. Are you the closeted ex muslim and Amina your wife? 

    Marrying a muslimah is never a good idea. But if she's really not religious maybe you can slowly wean her off of the stuff.

    Personally, I wouldn't penetrate a muslimah with a 10 foot pole

    Question is though, would she always have some hard limits that she won't be pushed beyond. Like wearing skirts. I know some women who adapted enough to wear jeans overseas, but skirts are like the red line which they don't want to cross.

    YOLO, do you think all women or all women raised Muslim or all women from a particular country are all exactly alike?

    Why are you so stuck on skirts? Maybe you could wear them once you leave, since you are so obsessed with them.

    Maybe, if you treated her like an equal, a human being and someone who has her own views and opinions, you could build a relationship with her and then IF she were to dress in more western ways, it would be a bonus. She is not a doll you get to play dress-up with.

    Maybe if you start your relationship with this kind of controlling attitude towards her, she will never want to wear a skirt just to please you. Or if she ever does just for that reason, she would probably resent you for treating her like an object you want to manipulate.

    Just be upfront. Tell her you want to move to ____ country and want a wife who is willing to be an equal part of that. Tell her that you don't care about religion and want a wife who is open minded enough to not take religion too seriously.

    Find out if you actually match. And don't presume that anyone but she herself knows what she is capable of doing.

    Its not just skirts though, or about dressing. I'd want her to be westernized.

    i've seen women go from mini-skirts to full burkas in a week and men go from bar hopping gigolos to full bearded sheikhs in the time it took to grow it.... what she wears has no bearing on what she believes, for all you know , she could be a closet exmuslim

    That's true.

    Edit: But its probably true more so in the west than here. Wearing a miniskirt isn't completely foreign to someone who grew up in the west, but for someone who grew up here, it would represent a lot.

    For a girl whose grown up in a muslim country, to agree to wear a miniskirt or a bikini, would mean she's accepting western culture..

    Umm i don't think she'll agree to the mini skirts and shorts right away. Remember you have to westernize her slowly so she won't suffer a culture shock. One step at a time.


    Seeing as your in Pakistan in which the dating scene is non existant(unless ur from a high/upper class family). If the girl is not very religious just marry her bro.  Every one needs a romantic and sexual relationship and unfortunately arranged marriage is the only way to get that in Pakistani society. (apart from prostitution).

    Its just a test. If a girl wears jeans, she can rationalize that as being allowed by islam, e.g she's not showing any skin. However you can't rationalize wearing a skirt, so that's crossing a line, its symbolic of a change in your mindset.

    Maybe if 'there he wants Amina to' is his general attitude towards marriage he should stay in the Muslim country as he can boss her around there all he wants?

    Lead by example. I've worn a basque, crotchless panties and fishnet stockings every weekend ever since renouncing Islamic culture.
