Damn Islam just doesn't allow to get smart articulated women/men as leaders of the society ... If the leaders don't shout and don't make jihad.. jihad.. allah hoo akbaaar noises, or  don't wield the swords or guns in public they can not become leaders of the society .. They are relegated to sissy of Islamic society, By chance If they are in public domain because of their sheer education, some times they are even considered as traitors to Islam..

    See this lady..   Samiha Khalil..

    Quote
Samiha al-Qubaj Salameh Khalil (1923 in Anabta, District of Tulkarm - February 26, 1999 in Ramallah), also known as Umm Khalil, was a Palestinian charity worker as well as a prominent figure in Palestinian politics. Born in a village, she dropped out of highschool at the age of seventeen to marry Salameh Khalil. After the 1948 War, the couple fled to Gaza where they raised a family of five children, and in 1964 Samiha finally returned to school and graduated. In 1965, Khalil came to the public eye when she founded the al-Inaash al-Usra society in her garage - it would grow to become the largest and most effective Palestinian welfare organization. In 1977 she became the first and only female member of the National Front Committee.

    Samiha Khalil (1923-1999), Resistance Organizer

SAMIHA KHALIL (UM Khalil), born and raised in Anabta, Palestine, became a refugee in the 1948 Nakba with her family (husband Salameh Khalil, who was until retirement the director of the UNRWA Teachers College for Men, and their four children) and 750,000 other Palestinians. In 1965, she attended the founding meeting of the Palestine National Council (PNC) in Jerusalem. Samiha became a leader and an organizer of the Palestinian anti-occupation movement after the 1967 Israeli occupation of the rest of Palestine.

In addition to founding and leading the Society of Ina’sh el-Usra (Revitalization of the Family), an association serving at least 18,000 families in the occupied areas and dubbed by the Israeli military governor of Ramallah-El Bireh as a “state within a state,” Um Khalil was the underground President of the Israeli-banned General Union of Palestinian Women (GUPW) until the Oslo Accords in 1993, when the PLO leadership relocated from Tunisia and set up the Palestinian Authority in Gaza and parts of the West Bank.

Placed on house arrest, detained several times by the Israeli military and beaten on at least one occasion, Um Khalil was also denied the right to see her daughter and four sons for several years as punishment for her anti-occupation activities and the involvement of most of them in Palestinian resistance. (She was not allowed to travel out of El-Bireh where she lived, and they were not allowed to come to the West Bank.) In 1996 she was the first woman in the Arab world to run for the post of President, opposing PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat, and received between 13% and 15% of the vote.

off course she is woman and on top of it Christian by birth ... And we know Islam needs men to rule... to negotiate..

So I have a question: Every few years, shit erupts between Israel and Gaza, people die and there is all kinds of self-righteousness that pours out of both political camps. It is obvious that Gaza houses Hamas which is also being pushed by external forces to keep making trouble, both within Gaza and towards Israel. The latter's govt, being such a bastion of sanity, tends to decide that killing Gazans like fish in a barrel (what a horrible concept in itself) is the way to go to ensure that Gazans fall in line. Apparently, nobody is keeping tabs in Israel of how often that NEVER WORKS.

My question is: How come the West Bank and Israel seem to get along better? I am not that knowledgeable about all the details of the history of that region, so I thought I'd ask people's opinions here.

Israel is a prospering city with it's population growing, while some other Middle Eastern countries people are leaving in droves or being killed needlessly. Israel is not going anywhere, even though Hamas' fantasy is to see it burnt to the ground. Seriously, it's in their best interest to make attempts to work with Israel for the sake of their citizens. Everyone is getting tired of this shit. Pray for Israel to show restraint or there will be a high civilian casualty on Palestines side since apparently Hamas makes no attempts to protect it's civilians.

The West Bank still has a decent Christian minority as well as Jewish settlers (who are mostly arseholes btw) whereas the Gaza Strip is something like 97% Muslim (wonder why it's an Islamist cesspit  Roll Eyes ) which is why I think Hamas was able to gain support there and I've heard the Gazan Palestinians on the whole tend to be more religious. The weird thing is that the violence coming out of Gaza got worse once Israel got rid of it's settlements there and left the place; whereas the West Bank is occupied and yet is still more peaceful and less reactionary. There may be a cultural difference between the two; any Palestinians who could fill us in? The Gazans made a big mistake in electing a militant Islamist entity that doesn't want peace but lives and breathes war/martyrdom/jihad; Hamas deliberately provokes Israel knowing that the latter will overreact and a bloody war will ensue where most of the dead will be on their side. Pure evil if you ask me.

Polls suggest that both sides want to coexist peacefully but Israel's right-wing government will not budge or give the Palestinians  statehood -- or at the very least stop with the settlements -- and Hamas still wants the Jews to be driven into the Mediterranean Sea. This shit will never end as long as the crazies are the ones with the guns and power.

So I have a question: Every few years, shit erupts between Israel and Gaza, people die and there is all kinds of self-righteousness that pours out of both political camps.

Shit erupts because leaders of Islamic regimes allover the world all over Islamic nations want to have perpetual power and for that they have  to invoke Allah in collision with mullahs and mosques., Together these rulers, these mullahs and these mosques use young fools in Islam to become martyrs and murderers in the name of allah to keep on ruling so called  Muslims that don’t use brain to analyze the religious nonsense.   So to understand the shit we have to look in to the political parties that are in Gaza,  that are in west bank and those who are ruling Israel.  And that couples to International actors that   support Israel and those who support totalitarian regimes in Islam and outside of Islam..

My question is: How come the West Bank and Israel seem to get along better? I am not that knowledgeable about all the details of the history of that region, so I thought I'd ask people's opinions here.

Now that question needs a bit of detailed discussion. Frankly speaking those who follow religions and use religion in day to day life, the Jewish folks/Jewish political/Jewish spiritual leaders never got along with  Muslim  folks/Muslim  political/Muslim  spiritual leaders. THE GOAL OF ISLAM IS CLEAR.  In Islam Jewish or others can only live as dhimmis and most of the time Jewish folks never cared about political power but cared about the economical/educational welfare of their community and lived well along with Muslim,  Except when there is/was infighting among Muslims for leadership. In those times the first victims are the Jewish folks that supported the Islamic leadership for their survival. ..

As long as Jewish folks never asserted political power everything is OK., but the presence of Israel and persecution of Jewish folks in the 2nd world war changed all together..  After 2nd world war non-Jewish folks realized who are the real victims and started supporting for Independent Jewish nation. .. So here comes a Jewish nation called Israel  in 1948, the new Jewish state was formally named Medinat Yisrael, or the State of Israel, after other proposed historical and religious names including Eretz Israel.

Off course in 21 st century, it is no more Jewish nation as its  demography of Israel says close 25% are non-Jewish folks.  The State of Israel has a population of approximately 7,933,200 inhabitants as of 2012.  75.4 percent of them are Jewish (about 5,978,600 individuals), 20.6 percent are Arabs (about 1,636,600 individuals), while the remaining 4 percent (about 318,000 individuals) are defined as "others" (family members of Jewish immigrants who are not registered at the Interior Ministry as Jews, non-Arab Christians, non-Arab Muslims and residents who do not have a religious classification).

"Hamas, to my great regret, is Israel's creation," says Mr. Cohen, a Tunisian-born Jew who worked in Gaza for more than two decades. Responsible for religious affairs in the region until 1994, Mr. Cohen watched the Islamist movement take shape, muscle aside secular Palestinian rivals and then morph into what is today Hamas, a militant group that is sworn to Israel's destruction."  Instead of trying to curb Gaza's Islamists from the outset, says Mr. Cohen, Israel for years tolerated and, in some cases, encouraged them as a counterweight to the secular nationalists of the Palestine Liberation Organization and its dominant faction, Yasser Arafat's Fatah. Israel cooperated with a crippled, half-blind cleric named Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, even as he was laying the foundations for what would become Hamas. Sheikh Yassin continues to inspire militants today; during the recent war in Gaza, Hamas fighters confronted Israeli troops with "Yassins," primitive rocket-propelled grenades named in honor of the cleric.

The idea was smart to have opposing political parties with in Islamic Palestine  and go for elections and get people mandate . But that is not HOW ISLAM WORKS..  So that Sheikh Yassin who follows that BROTHELHOOD of Egypt is the founder of HAMAS.. Well here is the Sheikh Yassin ..

Sheikh Ahmed Ismail Hassan Yassin (1937 – 22 March 2004)  (Arabic: الشيخ أحمد إسماعيل حسن ياسين‎ ash-shaykh Aḥmad Ismāʻīl Ḥasan Yāsīn) was a founder of Hamas, an Islamist Palestinian paramilitary organization and political party.  Yassin also served as the spiritual leader of the organization. Hamas gained popularity in Palestinian society by establishing hospitals, education systems, libraries and other services,[7] but it has also claimed responsibility for a number of suicide attacks targeting Israeli civilians, leading to its being characterized by the European Union,[8] Israel,[9] Japan,[10] Canada,[11] and the United States  as a terrorist organization.

Yassin, a quadriplegic who was nearly blind, had used a wheelchair since a sporting accident at the age of 12.  He was assassinated when an Israeli helicopter gunship fired a missile at him as he was being wheeled from early morning prayers. His killing, in an attack that claimed the lives of both his bodyguards and nine bystanders, precipitated both criticism and praise of Israel, and many observers suggested that the act would negatively impact the peace process.  200,000 Palestinians attended his funeral procession.

Still, the question remains, why has the militant, Islamist organization Hamas been able to take power in Gaza but not in the West Bank? All that the articles you've shared so far are saying is that the PA (Hamas' political rival and itself an Islamist org at the beginning like Hamas still is) has helped Israel in keeping tabs on Hamas' leaders. Why was Gaza more susceptible to Islamist takeover than the West Bank?

That answer is fairly simple,  Gaza strip is bordered with Egypt and West bank is bordered with Jordon but closely monitored and controlled by Israeli Govt .   We just have to go back to that 7 day war.. A FOOLISH WAR INITIATED BY ISLAMIC NATIONS to send juice in to allah Oven and obliterate Israel.  What happened in that war was complete reversal.  . Before that war Jewish folk could have taken whatever they got .. There was no settlements and no occupation,  whatever UN mandated land for them,  they were building their nation.,    But Our heroes of Islam don't like that .. They don't want Jewish nation but Jews can live there giving juice to Islamic heroes .. So with all those Islamic leaders  around Israel,   who wants rule Muslim nations  life long forever supported  these  Islamic heroes and went for all out war on Israel.  Israel screwed everyone,  and they shut them of in all direction annihilated  Egyptian.. Syrian.. Jordanian Armies and enclosed all the areas of Israel Palestine .. so here is the map..

Israeli Army occupied all those green areas.. and they sealed of all the borders around  Israel/Palestine.  Now coming back to that Gaza strip,  In 1979, with Pressure from US of A and for the sake of living in peace , Israel and Egypt signed a peace treaty that returned the Sinai Peninsula, which borders the Gaza Strip, to Egyptian control. As part of that treaty, a 100-meter-wide strip of land known as the Philadelphia Route was established as a buffer zone between Gaza and Egypt.  because frequent terror problems ude to porus border and tunnels and what not   Israelis built a barrier and 200–300 meter buffer zone in the Philadelphia  corridor during the Palestinian uprisings of the early 2000s. It was made mostly of corrugated sheet metal, with stretches of concrete topped with barbed wire.

Leaving the ocean side .. there are   three main crossing points out of the Gaza Strip: the northern Erez Crossing into Israel, the southern Rafah Crossing into Egypt, and the eastern Karni Crossing used only for cargo.  The Rafah Border Crossing lies on the international border between Egypt and the Gaza Strip that was recognized by the 1979 Israel-Egypt Peace Treaty and confirmed during the 1982 Israeli withdrawal from the Sinai Peninsula. The crossing was managed by the Israel Airports Authority until Israel evacuated Gaza on 11 September 2005 as part of Israel's unilateral disengagement plan. It subsequently became the task of the European Union Border Assistance Mission Rafah (EUBAM) to monitor the crossing. In 2005 when Israel decided to pull out of the Gaza Strip, Israel and Egypt reached an agreement regarding the border, based on the principles of the 1979 peace treaty.

Now After Israelies  withdrew completely from Gaza,   many heroes of Islam can move across Pagination/Gaza border . It also depends on Egyptian Govt and the Egyptian Security force which also has Islamic heroes. . Off course   from 1990 to 2010.. every one is focused on Breaking Russians screwing Afghanistan feeding Uncle Osamas making rogues of Islam as heroes of humanity  .. that is where the world was busy . These Islamic idiots in Gaza instead of educating the public they educate Jihad and public elect scoundrels like this on  as their leaders..

He is National security adviser of Gaza govt..  and followers of these leaders sing these songs

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUju-6nfpYM

They spread these videos around Islamic world to brain wash young Arab Muslims
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49HU8JDEAjE

    And their schools preach this
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H26ylBsAknw

With all that with economy going nowhere, population exploding with 5 children an average per  woman, and the only  way they  could make some money is Israel, Israelis closed all shops and borders from it . So  what you end up in 10 ..15 years is the SHIT YOU ARE TALKING allat.. .    Egyptians give some peanuts whenever they get some peanuts from US of A or these Gaza Politicians/ Islamic heroes  get funds for terror.. but no funds   for schools and not for building some factories and not for employing the folks  ...

Now why not west bank?? it is a different story . After Yasser Arafat's death Mahmoud Abbas  was selected or elected or whatever ............   is looking after the politics of West bank .. and he is not a Jihad..jihad.. allah hoo akbaar guy. Anyways we will discuss west bank Politics in the next post . It is also true as Al-Alethia pointed out  Public in west bank more educated and there are more Christians and more people from outside of the world  visit that area because of all those religious mosques/temples/structures .. And their economy is also supported by Israelis..  The only thing people of Gaza have is that Egyptian Sinai desert.,

What does it matter anyway, Palestinians kill Palestinians anyway. I don't blame the Jews to be honest. Its exactly the India/Pakistan conflict, the Arabs are hung up about Israel like Indians are hung up about Pakistan. Picking on a small Jewish country, I don't blame them for defending themselves.

There was a clip from Gaza on the News tonight showing some men frantically digging in the ruin of a bombed house and finding a woman still alive, but no doubt badly hurt. Suddenly they stopped digging (the lower half of her was still buried in rubble) and started shouting she needs to be covered, she needs to be covered and did not resume digging until someone had produced a piece of cloth which was then draped loosely around her head.

Reminded me of that school fire in Saudi Arabia where some girls died because they were not hijabbed.

Like a compass needle that points north, a man?s accusing finger always finds a woman. Always.

well two cases are different  in that school fire case "THOSE IDIOTS WERE RELIGIOUS POLICE

    Quote
2002 Mecca girls' school fire:  On March 11, 2002, a fire at a girls' school in Mecca, Saudi Arabia killed fifteen people, all young girls. The event was especially notable due to complaints that Saudi Arabia's "religious police" (aka the Committee for the Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice) stopped schoolgirls from leaving the burning building and hindered rescue workers because the girls were not wearing correct Islamic dress As Hanny Megally, Executive Director of the Middle East and North Africa division of Human Rights Watch put it, "Women and girls may have died unnecessarily because of extreme interpretations of the Islamic dress code. State authorities with direct and indirect responsibility for this tragedy must be held accountable."

That is different from just on looker digging her that bombed building and stopping few seconds to cove her up...  Anyways the news says  Israeli strikes kill 23 in bloodiest day for Gaza
    Quote
GAZA CITY: Israeli strikes on Sunday killed 23 Palestinians including 14 women and children in the bloodiest day of its Gaza bombing campaign, the Hamas-run health ministry said. Nine children, five of them babies and toddlers, and five women were among the victims in violence that raised the overall number of Gazans killed to 69 in around 100 hours of relentless Israeli air strikes. The attacks came as diplomatic efforts intensified to broker an end to the bloodshed which began on Wednesday and has also cost the lives of three Israelis and injured more than 50, according to medical sources..

That is the problem firing long range rockets in to densely populated areas .. you can not pinpoint  people like in this video..

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RKhramMhIsU

These Hamas  idiots who don't care about life and death clearly storing those rocket launchers in heavily populated areas  and Israelis  fire back 10 of them for each Hamas fire cracker in to those populated areas.. and the results are devastating..
