    what kind of response is acceptable?

    for every rocket fired from Gaza, they fire one back at a random target? An exact equivalent response?

    Ignore the rockets?  No response at all?

    If their response is over the top, how far should they go?

    That is a very good discussion dr_sloth.,  We got to remember here.. Israel is a just a piece of land..

    So what do the people of Israel want??  What did/do the governments of Israel wanted/wants since its birth in 1948
    Same way  what do the original people  who were living in of Palestine before Israel became a nation want??  
    And what to do the governments or leaders, Mafias or whoever have the control on Palestinian people   want  since its birth in 1948?

    Those are valid questions.. I am sure there zillion answers for those questions..  We also have to realize there are different types of critics of Israel and its polices since its birth .. The variations of the critics could go from elimination of Israel all together ......to making two independent nations from that 1964 borders ...........to  removing the walls and borders between the two people..

    That wouldn't be any good. Even if Israel fired Qassams back in the same numbers, the greater density of the Gaza Strip and the lack of a missile defence system there would probably mean more casualties on the Gaza side. So, Israel would still be made out to be the villain.

    Good question. I think the Israeli boasting about sending Gaza back to the Middle Ages this time is way over the top. I also think that realistically Hamas has no interest in peace with Israel under any circumstances. Basically, Hamas cannot stand the fact that Jews are in charge of the Temple Mount/al Aqsa.

    It seems as heat in the middle east in being convected to this forum... There is ONE thing the Levant Arabs and the Israelis agree on.  Violence has to stop, at some point. There are three ways to achieve that:
    1) Kill all Israelis
    2) kill all so called Palestinians and any who support then
    3) Sit down together and work things out, accepting Israel is there to stay and so are the Arabs on the area. Learn to live together.

    As there is no other option, number three seems to be the only acceptable one. Sadly, until both sides can really see that, this will carry on. And on. And on. Another 100 years. 1000 years. So when will the politicians are able to see that both the Israelis and the Arabs deserve better than this.

    It really makes me mad. How can people be to proud and so stubborn? A life is a life. All are worth the same, all are priceless.

     Cheesy No. I have no problem with it. Two points. First, Israel is not actually occupying al Aqsa as such. They leave that under the control of Muslim leaders. What Israel occupies is the land around al Aqsa. Which leads to the second point. That would be, let's see, the Temple Mount, right? As in the Temple that Jews built thousands of years before Islam ever came into being. Obviously, Jews should never have any rights there.

    Surrounding an area and invading it whenever you see fit is as bad as occupying it. Who said they have no rights to it? Are you one of those who thinks Jews never worshipped and lived in Jerusalem before the birth of the Zionist entity?

    No it was not said in English and no I don´t understand Arabic, the Danish TV had had it translated and subtitled in Danish. Although a translation was almost unnecessary as the actions spoke for themselves.

    In the larger scheme of the Palestinian-IDF conflict it doesn't tell us much, other than you hinting that the Palestinians 'deserve it'.

    The reason I am giving up on you is because you speak in extremist jargon. Instead of referring to "Israel" you insist on using terms like "the Zionist entity". This indicates to me that you have a problem with Israel even existing, which leads me to conclude that you aren't much interested in any compromises. In general, I tend to avoid speaking to people who can only communicate in factional jargon.

    Yes, you're absolutely right. I have a problem with the cancer known as Israel. Compromise? Are you willing to compromise your rights to your homeland? If not, don't expect others to. Having said that, I admire the IDF and the Israelis in some ways, I mean if I found myself in such a position (almost invincibility against its enemy's) then I would continue to use my military to dominate them, not like the Arabs/Muslims haven't done the same in the past. Israel is just another empire, that had its birth, rise and will soon have its fall. Can't fault their determination and professionalism when it comes to targeting their enemy either. Muslims could learn a lot from them.

    Anyway, I shall leave your forum in peace, only posted (using a friends account, this isn't mine) because I saw some posts which I thought were full of lies/false propaganda.

    On the Palestinians side I'm surprised that there aren't any precautions taken to protect the citizens. Israel has bomb shelters and sirens. And let's say Israel is the big bad here, I haven't heard any moves from Hamas to keep their fight away from civilians and protect their citizens from Israel. Plus is it true that Gaza gets it's water and electricity from pipes and lines from Israel? Visiting pro-Palestinian places who deem Israel the greatest terrorist state, they never seem to mention this. So I was wondering if that was propaganda or the efforts Israel makes to help Gaza has been swept under the rug, especially because of the blockade. Trying to cross-exam my research here  Roll Eyes I have 2 good friends, one from Eygpt who recently changed her avatar to show the star of David calling Israel the biggest terrorist state. And a Jewish friend of mine who has friends who have served in the IDF. Completely different black and white arguments it's amazing what you learn when you talk to both sides.

    Ending the occupation, the blockade, the attempts to deny Palestine statehood and beginning to offer compensation for war crimes would be a good start. They'd probably also appreciate an end to the illegal settlement expansions in other parts of Palestine but I reckon they'd settle for not being caged animals in the mean time.

    This, at the very least, should be a no-brainer as a starting point. I reckon all countries should cut off all aid to Israel until they stop the expansions. There is no excuse for continuing them.
