I have often wondered about ties and the symbolism behind them. They do seem to be saying "look at the size of my dangler".

My mosque teacher told us ties were haram. Only christians wear them, to make us subconsciously adopt the christian symbol (the cross).

The shape of a tie is very roughly that of an upside down kite. If you draw perpendicular lines connecting their opposite vertices then you get an upside down cross.

Kinda like how Santa contains the same letters as Satan.

When radiation was first discovered they never knew it was dangerous. It used to get added to a variety of items due to it's faint glow.

Yup! She contracted aplastic anemia due to her exposure to radiation which killed her.

Found a website which lists 11 ways radiation used to be used in everyday life:
