Hello guys, just wanted to ask a question. So it is A) claimed that since the 19 miracle was first announced in 1974, it is remarkable that surah 74 means "the hidden". It is also B) claimed that since there have been 1409 lunar years from the beginning of hijri until 1974, it is remarkable that 1409 is really "19 x 74". It is also C) claimed that the numerical value of the first two verses in surat-al-mudatthir, (which have a total number of 19 letters), add up to 1974. I had a question though.

In the first verse, "yaayuhal", are there two alifs after the "ya"? http://quran.com/74

Hi, no, no, don't get mistaken. I DO NOT consider these claims as miracles anymore. Trust me. I was different before.
I just wanted to ask how you would count the letters. I am trying to make a thorough debunking of all of these numerical claims and make an overall, general point of how this is really the process of humans seeking patterns.

How can you find patterns in something that isn't there? I thought arabic used different accents for various purposes that are not written. How do you count them?

And when were the spaces between words and punctuation introduced?

And is not the holy bit the words coming from Gabriel's mouth? Why is what Mo wrote the same?

Actually, if you find your mind getting stuck in issues like this regularly, I strongly recommend you see a doctor.

moi, I am not getting my mind stuck. I told you. I am trying to make and compose a thorough debunking of all the numerical miracles I have read. By all, I don't mean every single one, but to provide a general analysis with examples like this one. This is why I wanted to ask about the counting.
