It could conceivably be a lone psycho bomber with no agenda other than what a shooting spree psycho has

That was the case with the Atlanta olympics bomber wasn't it?

Yeah. At this point it could really be anything. I hate to say it, but the smaller scale of the device used leads me to believe that it potentially possibly maybe was not Muslim terrorists.

Citing Law enforcement sources, the New York Post reported that authorities have identified a potential suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings. A 20-year-old is reportedly being guarded in a Boston hospital in unknown condition.

“Investigators have a suspect — a Saudi Arabian national — in the horrific Boston Marathon bombings,” The Post reports.

“The man was caught less than two hours after the 2:50 p.m. bombing on the finish line of the race, in the heart of Boston,” the report adds.

CBS News’ John Miller is also reporting that police have a potential suspect in custody — a Saudi Arabian national.

Miller said a civilian claims the person, identified as a Saudi national, was acting suspiciously so he chased him down and tackled him following the explosions. The man is reportedly cooperating with investigators and denies any involvement in the explosions.

Boston Police Commissioner Edward Davis said in a press conference Monday that they have not identified anyone as a suspect yet. He didn’t specifically deny reports of a potential suspect, but did confirm that no suspect has been formally identified.

At least eight of the patients are children.

On ABC news this morning, an "expert" said it could be a Nazi or someone like that because this race has a lot of African Americans. Only heard that POV once though. He was cut off quickly though because Gillard came on for a live conference. There were also 150 Aussies competing in the race, it seems to be a very international olympicy kinda thing, with all the athletes that attended.

Damn Americans are smart.. No one speaks and nothing comes out of their investigation until it is thoroughly examined unlike in lands like Pakistan.. The moment there is blast accusation fly all over at the end no one know who did it..  Benazir Bhutto  murdered in an open air in front of 1000s of people on  18 October 2007,.. almost six year.. no clues.... nothing

Seems to me some random Saudi guy was here, and when the media learned that, they jumped on this occasion to get a “scoop”, while he doesn't seem to even be suspected by the police. I wouldn't be surprised if, whenever the actual bomber is a muslim or not, this guy was just another victim.

The search on the home in Revere, north of Boston, was connected to a young Saudi citizen who is visiting on a student visa and has been questioned, a law enforcement official said. So far, the official told CNN, he has not heard of anything being found connecting the person to the bombings.

The Revere Fire Department said on its Facebook page that the FBI; the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives; immigration officials, state and local police, detectives and bomb techs all took part in the search at the apartment.

The search took place with consent, so no warrant was needed, a federal law enforcement official said.

Investigators told police Monday to be on the lookout for a "darker-skinned or black male" with a possible foreign accent in connection with the marathon bombs, according to a law enforcement advisory obtained by CNN. The man was seen with a black backpack and sweatshirt and was trying to get into a restricted area about five minutes before the first explosion, the lookout notice states.

A Saudi citizen with a leg wound was under guard at a Boston hospital in connection with the bombings, but investigators cannot say whether he is involved at this time, and he is not in custody, a law enforcement source said.

It was probably a Muslim. As much I hate to say this, Muslims do deserve the blacklash as they need perhaps another lesson. The psychos in Islam are out of control and the majority of the Muslims are still hush hush about what's going on. Look whats going on in Bangladesh. Look at what happened few weeks ago in Egypt, the Copic Christians, yet once again were attacked. Turkey just arrested one of their famous pianist for a retweet of making fun of Islam.

Where was "please don't be a Muslim" when those people were getting attacked? Oh yea, it was the Muslims doing the attack. Unfortunately the good Muslims who are standing up are so small in numbers, that they get overshadowed by the rest. even shunned by the Moderate Muslims.

I don't when the rest of the Muslim world will wake up.

The US needs to wake up too though. Three innocent people died okay. What about all those innocent people who die because of US drones?

Islam may be a delusion for people, but the portrayal of the US being a force for good is a bigger one.

Bullshit Kutta. Not to take away from the seriousness of this thread in the least, but I have to call bullshit on what you just said. The United States does not deliberately target innocent civilians. Innocent civilians do die, and this is extremely regretful and unfortunate, but the United States, given the unparallel size of its armed forces, shows an incredible amount of restraint. IF the US wanted to kill all Muslims in every single Muslim majority country on the planet, they could effectively do it many times over. If these Jihadi types had access to the artillery that the US has, nothing unIslamic would be left on the face of the earth.
  • Boston marathon bombing

Look, I understand that if groups like the Taliban had access to the kinds of artillery that the US has, it would have destroyed people. I completely agree with you on that.

However, that still doesn't change the fact that almost no attention is paid towards innocent people who do die because of those drones. It's not just the drones though. It's also the events that are caused directly by the country's political motives. Look at how many people died in the Iraq war. Some sources claim that the figure of casualties/violent deaths surpassed the 1 million mark. Also, one of the primary sources of anger is because of the "operations" conducted by the US. If you're a person living in the worst of conditions in Pakistan, it's easy to join forces that directly oppose a country responsible for killing so many of your loved ones.

The life of any human is precious. That is why I hate the “well, Americans do it all the time” argument. It is a shallow, tit for tat type argument that does not take into consideration the agony that real families are feeling today. If you want to raise awareness of innocents killed in any other countries, then that is commendable. But to suggest that this could be some sort of justified retaliation, or indeed, a wake up call for Americans, completely ignores the fact that jihadis seek to kill people as innocent as an eight year old for the sole sake of killing them. That is an evil that is beyond words.

Totally agree. In fact, when my niece is old enough to walk, I'll let her know that she is expected to go to a 9/11 rally, because she was hush hush about it before she was born.
I'll let my dad know to check Egyptian news too so when a Xtian is killed there, he can take a day off work to publicly mourn.
