As an agnostic ex. I joined this site to get an idea of peoples thoughts and achievements after their, what I can only imagine self wrenching, away from Islam.

My early thoughts on this are that a lot of people on here are attacking Muslims all the time and NOT the religion.

I can only imagine like me a lot of exs still have close family who are Muslims, whilst their blind belief is the issue. I do not think attacking the people or community is constructive, most of the time. I sometimes cringe at these attack on the people on this forum, it is making me feel uneasy.

I'd prefer the attack on the teachings and the superstitions.

I know the site has a ban on right-wing extremists, but I cant help feeling their are a few on here dressed as sheep and definitely showing their wolf like teeth in some postings.

I will carry on in here. As I have many unquestioned answers and support that I need on my path.

I would have to disagree, we constantly argue against those attacking muslims and not Islam itself.

I would be interested in seeing the many posts you must be referring to, especially since like any forum, there is a minority who do exactly what you say, because in all likelihood I could show you following posts that argue against it.

Is this to say one or two don't slip by? of course not, there are only so many admin, and so many mods, so not all threads get checked, but on the whole I would say you are wrong.

Who is attacking Muslims?

I rarely ever see people here attacking Muslims, and the few that do are unceremoniously told to fuck off elsewhere.

No idea how you've manged to conclude that there are lots of people doing that, and that they are doing it all the time. That conclusion doesn't correspond with reality.

Unless you count attacks on individuals who are justifiably being attacked for the specific words they say or specific things they have done, who also happen to be Muslim.

Too fucking busy, and vice versa.

Thanks Guys, Maybe I am feeling Paranoid and I'm reading between the lines.
My other first post brought back some really good support and some nonsense :-) I shall continue on knowing the official line is taken seriously.

The great thing about this forum is that there isn't really an official line, just an assumption of good faith and courtesy.

Perhaps, despite having left Islam, you're still attuned to the criticism taboos it wraps itself in. Taboos the rest of the world has largely tossed out of the window.

i'm sorry but that's just a strawman. Cemb(although I don't speak for them) goes out of their way to be against any anti-muslim bigotry.

Welcome here. Although I haven't seen any personal attacks against Muslims, I do get what you mean - we should remain careful and constructive with our genuine concerns about Islam rather than scrapping the bucket for any tittle-tattle garbage to fling around at Muslims in general.
