I did not intend to insinuate that ALL UK Muslims are extremists and I'm sorry if I can across as that way but I know what I saw and heard.

Yes, we definitely have our share of political and religious extremists here in the US but as I avoid watching Fox News like the plague I tend not to hear their rhetoric. I'm aware of it from discussions with my father and watching MSNBC on occasion. We're not all rifle toting, NRA loving pro life, Xtian fundies either.

Sorry for off-top..but being pro-gun doesn't make you crazy christian fundie. I have a friend in USA, who is one of the most liberal and Bible-bashing types i know, and he has a nice collection of weapons in his home.  yes

If I lived in America, I'd definitely own guns. That place is fucking mental.

Too fucking busy, and vice versa.

Honestly I'd move to America just to own guns, I'd like right to defend myself. Over here you can't even carry pepper spray,  just a rape alarm which I can assure you, no one ever responds to, since they give them to domestic violene victims too, so I speak from experience.

Sadly America is a fucked place, so other than guns, any old dreams I once had about moving there, I have long grown out of. Well, long as in, the last few years of studying sociology lol

Inhale the good shit, exhale the bullshit.

I carry a pool ball in a sock, à la Scum.

You can make your own pepper spray btw. You probably already have all the ingredients you need right there in your home.

What no Ubi-bo, isn't that what all good JJ practitioners are packing these days? Still that said, it's hard to argue against a good snooker ball across the skull.

Honest question would people even know what it was? I don't ever remember being taught to recognise a rape alarm. I can honestly say if I heard one I think my first reaction would be to wonder what that sound was.

`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'

It's no contest really. A flail gives you a reach advantage. You'd have to be in their guard to be using a yubi bo or yawara. Not much good against knives. IMHH.

True that, knew another guy who recommended using the chain of a good strong dog leash, kept it bunched in his pocket, I guess he liked the reach advantage of the flail as well. That said as far as I know there are still a few guys with JJ backgrounds walking round with ubi bo's up their sleaves, one guy told me even used to bring it on the airplane, had no problems getting through security lol but why he needed on a plane I couldn't help wonder?

They are serious business if you know what you're doing with them. You can put a grown man on his arse and make him squeal like a piglet. My instructor had one under my nose, top lip, and just lifted it slightly, and your body just goes limp with the pain and shock. Those smaller Kubotans you can get are proper police/armed forces kit. Fantastic for restraining and controlling someone. You can lead them around like a cow by its nose ring.

I think they are supposed to be a deterrent rather than a call for help. Criminals and rapists generally don't want attention drawn to what they are doing.
