After Bob Marley, my knowledge of reggae is somewhat scant. Ragga, yes, Jungle a bit and what does the OP mean by ska, to me that is my first music two tone (You were either a ska fan, speacials, bad manners, madness, the beat or an Adam Ant fan, before Duran Duran, new wave music and gaiety and hit the charts.

So reggae Eek A Mouse - Ganga Smuggling - an acquired taste maybe

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q0VYOcOjryg

And ragga - (it's not a nice topic) Cutty Ranks - what else you expect

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPeCHvAJCEQ

Jungle _ General Levy - Incredible

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mL2Bgj-za5k

Cant have one general levy tune without this one - a heavy reminder of misspent times - perhaps music that connects to events/times trigger memories and are viewed as such - Heat

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tY3imuXQYfY

And ska The beat - mirror on the bathroom

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-cbUW2EY4KE

More ska The specials - too much too young
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxHcx7FO8nI

The specials album was the first I bought, they had three, one with Ghost Town on it.

I am my own worst enemy and best friend, itsa bit of a squeeze in a three-quarter bed, tho. Unhinged!? If I was a dog I would be having kittens, that is unhinged. Footloose n fancy free, forced to fit, fated to fly. One or 2 words, 3 and 3/thirds, looking comely but lonely, till I made them homely.D

Ghost Town was the first of the Two Tones label that came into our house. My brother won the single at 'Grönan'(amusement park).
Next came Bob Marley and then Black Uhuru.

Yag talar inte svenska, sa bra (don't know if I should have added the sa bra - think it meant little bit - knew the numbers and the swear words). If you remember Ghost Town, (you are old enough to remember Stockholm in the early nineties, yet refused to indulge me in my nostalgia lol) - you must remember the b-side of Ghost Town, think there was two tunes on the b-side - Friday Night, Saturday Morning - there was a lyric that stuck with me till this day - Lipstick on my collar and piss-stains on my shoe, as well Friday/Saturday the other tune was Why?  Wonder if they can be tracked down on you tube, I will have a go later.

Just a side note, when younger you want to be rich to have all the music/films/videos you have seen/heard and will see/hear and room to house them all well that was the case in the eighties - now you can haver the same thing and be virtually poor - all thanks to the internet.

Noticed I had no female representation - in ma raga days, Nadine Sutherland was the name that stood out, there was one more, forgotten her name, will delve. So here is Nadine Sutherland - a duet with Buju Banton (don't think he has many fans here)

I is spelled 'Jag' and you need that ring over the a like this 'så bra' but it's correct and adds 'that well' to the end. I'm not avoiding your Stockholm craving but I like to stay on topic. If you start a separate thread I'll guide you through the streats of my home town.  Wink

Lyrics just don't stick with me unless it's Frank Zappa. This didn't ring a bell with me.

Yes! I'm roaming through cyberspace for records I've lost and It's all there. Also you get all the exotic stuff that record collectors like to keep for themselves so they can pick it out and play for other collectors once a year.
