I suppose since he wouldn't be able to see anything, it wouldn't scare him shitless.

Mike Newman breaks blind land speed record - hits 186mph

Former bank manager Mike Newman has reclaimed the blind land speed record from Turkish pop singer Metin Senturk, who achieved 182mph in April 2010 in a Ferrari F430.

The 52-year-old man from Manchester reached 186 mph (300 km/h) at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground in Leicestershire by driving a Porsche 911 GT2.

Mike was assisted by a navigator who gave information over a radio link.

After the record attempt Mike said: “when I was in sixth gear, I knew I was going quick enough.”

The 52-year-old and his Speed of Sight team are now going after the blind water speed record.

I'm torn between wanting to congratulate him as a blind man on breaking the record and being freaked that it was a blind man that broke the record.

Well it would be a blind bloke (or sheila) who broke the record, since it's the blind speed record.

The world land speed record is 763 mph (faster than the speed of sound).
