there was an instance where I was told that I was seeking male attention for shaping my eyebrows since that contradicts a hadith which says that one can’t alter their physical appearances in any way.
I could be wrong but I was told of a hadith recently where a woman approached the prophet and asked if she could do her eyebrows because she wanted her husband to find her attractive. He said yes. Either way, it goes back to doing it solely for a man and not just for her own enjoyment. Fun. But it does imply that only married women can do their eyebrows and only for their husbands' approval.
We had learned about free will and destiny not too long ago. I asked them what was the point of even trying to do anything if God had predicted our fate in life and the afterlife. It was all guaranteed to happen no matter our own desires to the contrary and even our thoughts and emotions were predetermined.
My teacher said that it was because on the day of judgement when god shows us everything we did, we couldn't complain that we hadn't been given the chance to live that life. Which makes no sense. Also, really? God allows us to complain about that? That's the only thing? We can't question anything else, but apparently he's thought so far ahead that he's decided to let us live the life he already knows how we're going to live so we won't complain how unfair it is. Jeez, thanks, god.
Great post!
