I love tattoo's I'm just too indecisive. Considering the kind of tattoo's I wanted 10 years ago would repulse me now, I'm scared in 10 years time I wouldn't like it. I want a small arrow somewhere.

Well the main thing to keep in mind is that if you don't want to regret a tattoo it should have some sort of meaning in your personal life in addition to being aesthetically pleasing.

Had some previous ink worked on by a newartist. Really like this guy's work. Getting a new piece by him in the short future and might let him work on some more of my previous ones.

Nice !  It looks alot better with the details the new artist added in.

Did your tattoo artist sketch out their improvements on a paper first or did you just let him go to work straight on your arm ?

He photo shopped a chimp into yuri gagaren's helmet as a reference for shading etc and he also drew on the older one free hand and worked from there. He was quite talented, can't wait to get an original piece from him.

Doesn't always work. A step daughter's boyfriend had her signature tattooed all the way up his arm. Then they got married, which changed her surname. Later, she divorced him.

We did try to tell him there was a good chance this would happen. Love is blind I guess.

My husband has a guy in his friend group (mostly Arabs) who is French, and he once told them that he had a tattoo in Arabic. When he lifted up his shirt to show them, they found what my husband described as "sort of just the alphabet" in a curved line under his chest. The guy thought it meant something or another in Arabic. But it really did not mean anything. Has a powerful message of the importance of research, though.

    Also, wow. Nice, movingfeet!

Describing some Holy words to the tattoo is worth the kick;) I wonder who has one Tongue

IMO tattooing a partner's name is stupid. When I said something meaningful I meant a passion or hobby of your own. Or something to symbolize a phase in your life.

It looks alot better with the additions !

When you say the design is not finished, do you mean the tattoo is part way done or your tattoo artist is drawing it out in paper first  ?

    He's on a beer I saw in Sainsbury's.

`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'

My apartment got flooded and water rained down from the ceiling a few days ago, and one of the first things I saved was my first edition copy of Seven Pillars of Wisdom. Oh boy are there flaws, but I also have a soft spot for the guy and so much of his writing (maybe GB Shaw is more to credit for that?), but I keep my copy open to an illustration in the book on the wooden stand that used to hold our Quran. I had been told by my in laws that tattoos burn/eat you in the afterlife. Did anyone else hear this? I have no idea where it would be from, or if it was a superstition.

Yeah, that is Bukhari. I cannot find much else that directly pertains to tattoos. So I am wondering why people told me the tattoos came alive or burnt you or whatever.

I know so many Muslims with tattoos though. Especially popular with old ladies.

Me, too. Just today I had a Muslim tell me that Muslims do not tattoo because they do not want to alter the bodily ¨gift" given to them by God. That people were born perfect, and it was a sin to change the body in any permanent way. I asked her what circumcision was for, then? I mean, really.
I heard that tattooing is allowed for Shia. I think it depends on what part of the world people are from, because I do know communities where no one has one. Er, or no one owns up to having one.

Why do religious people keep saying we were born perfect?
