    Not much of a "debate" to be honest.

    Arguments were ho-hum, the same one's that I've heard and have been refuted a million times. Don't really think much of him tbh.

    OK so I watched like 2 minutes and my brain started to deteriorate. Like seriously, this guy is an idiot. First of all, I wouldn't call religious moral code "objective". Second of all, any sane person would prefer a "subjective" moral code that is based on evidence, science and reason instead of following 1400 year old rules and laws that are clearly harmful to the individual and society as a whole.

    He really comes off as a first class douche, I would dislike him even as a Muslim.

    i liked a specific video of him as a muslim if i find it il post it.

    but what do you guys think of the specific point he made that athiest like chris hitchens and sams harris support illegal wars because they have no moral guidence

    Also he says that america is responsible for using nuclear bombs and not muslims


    what would youl say in response to these kind of claims

    What is "illegal war"? That is just nonsense. Why would Muslims' war be "legal", because god said so? Muslims don't like colonialism and imperialism as long as it's not they who are in charge. A god we have never observed, a god we have absolutely no proof of, a god that is most probably man-made given the facts and evidences we do have. You do know that Islam propagates a very intense imperialistic agenda, right? You think that Islamists wouldn't use nukes if they had a chance? Cheesy For fucks sake, they murder and slaughter and rape and pillage all in the name of allah.

    Him saying that non-believers have no moral guidance says more about him than anything else. I have a moral guidance, I just don't base that moral guidance on someone who allowed and encouraged rape, slavery, child marriages and oppression of minorities.

    Religious people like that don't use their brains. They are like robots, just repeating whatever nonsense they've been taught. What abut "maturity"? Even if little 9 year old Aisha, against all odds, had started menstruating and/OR started growing pubes (remember, you don't have to start menstruating in order to be "mature", pubes are enough), everything we know about biology and psychology says that it is immoral and wrong in every sense to marry her off with a 60 year old fart who basically raped her. As someone here mentioned, there is a high risk that the reason why Aisha never conceived is because of the damages intercourse caused her.

    Basically this. The more you dwell on it, the more you realize what an utterly sick, perverted person Mo was. Mo raped her and didn't give a damn about her physical and mental health. This delusional freak probably thought he was honouring her in some way. I seriously pity Aisha. Imagine being raped, and then having to tell everyone what a noble person your rapist was, otherwise face death for insulting the prophet.

    ok i watched it

    So couple things stand out for me now, while i admire his religious passion, it is clear that he is speaking about a lot of things he has no idea about.

    Broad generalizations, fear of dying, ignorance on scientific knowledge,

    I gues ye they all say the same things in different ways.

    But it makes muslims feel better when they see things like this, makes em feel like they are right and everyone else is wrong

    A side note about the practice of calling Mo's wives the "Mothers of the Believers." Muslims always view it as a term of respect and endearment, saying things like "how would you like it if someone disrespected your mother? That is how we feel when you disrespect the prophet's wives blah blah blah."

    In actuality, though, the practice of referring to a woman as someone's "mother" was an old Arab custom known as "thihar" that indicated that it would never be permissible to marry them. The idea is that having sex with them would be like having sex with your mother. (See Surah Mujadilah verses 1-5) If a man wanted to let his wife know that they were DONE for good, he would say "You are to me like my mother's back side." Or like Taylor Swift would say, "We are never, ever, ever, getting back together."

    Muhammad telling his followers that his wives were their mothers was more likely understood to mean that they were totally and always unmarriable and unfuckable, even after Mo died. That is why the verse declaring Mo's wives to be the "Mother of the Believers" comes in the same surah as Mo telling his followers not to annoy him and that they can never marry his wives after he was gone or after he divorced them.

    It is more about Mo's remarkable insecurity than respect.

    He made no point. People can make their own decisions on a number of topics. I can agree or disagree with these views. Harris and Hitchens being atheists have zero influence on my views just due to the fact they are atheists. Also neither of these people are seen as perfect examples for me to follow unlike religion. I completely disagree with Harris stance on racial/stereotype profiling. I disagree with Hitchens on the Iraq War, namely for the reason America setup Iraq's situation to begin with. I disagree with Hitchens smoking and drink, ie life-style. Let just flip this point for a minute. Could I not argue that since some Muslims are suicide bombers or kill innocents that they should reflect an idea that Muslims have no moral compass? Should a minor sampling of people condemn all Muslims as he has done with atheists? Should I look at the first 2 centuries of the Islamic Empire as proof that Muslims are warmongers? After all look at all the nations Muslims have conquered during this time frame. He is also projecting this views of religion figures and imposing these on atheists. Unlike him none of us is required or believes Harris or Hitchens are perfect people capable of no wrong. He is using an Islamic paradigm then is demanding atheists defend a paradigm he has imposed, strawman, on to Harris and Hitchens.

    The quote from Harris' book completely missed out on the clauses and the implications of such a statement. It is clear to me Harris is referring to a scenario in which all options but one is unacceptable or has been rejected. To me this means peace talks, conventional war, blockades, etc are not an option. So Harris has depicted a scenario which has only one solution which is highly improbable at this time.

    I see a lot of hot air coming from this guy but nothing of substance let alone an actual argument.

    confusedagno opens a thread with This guy  He says he is NOT human being but a Muslim. Well I don't think so but I don't mind agreeing   with him..

    Anyways there was another guy,  Akahoshi  in CEMB , who wanted change every one  in  CEMB and convert  all of  them back to  to ISLAM

    So at the end,  he left the forum  and started writing  on   his own  with a heading cemb  a swamp in the shape of a forum .,  well it goes like this    
    "Abood is vulgar  rabid "
     Yeezeevee is hypocrite

    and Akahoshi  was good in Arbaic language..

     Any ways  some how we need to get such guys to read and write in to CEMB..

    He feels that people are "attacking" Islam and using "foul" language because we criticize Islam and we say things like they are without trying to sugar coat it or make it into something it's not. Of course people are going to discuss Islam on a forum for ex-Muslims Roll Eyes A lot of ex-Muslims are still very much affected by Islam, not to mention that they have Muslim families they constantly have to deal with. What an idiot, really.

    the dawah boys will call it 'hate' no matter how polite you are when you hit the raw nerves. Its just an assertion of the blasphemy code, nobody can criticise Islam.

    Sometimes Islam just seems like an energy to stop people criticising it, dissenting from it, leaving it, examining and judging it. All that effort, just to protect itself, what is left when you take that away?

    The actual person of Muhammad, is such a weak point in the ideology. I wonder if that's the reason that he is quasi-deified in Islamic belief and the subject of such a taboo of criticism, depiction, even unbiased factual assessment being shouted down as "disrespectful". The early propagators of Islamic ideology must have known how repugnant of an individual he truly was and hence had to establish these taboos basically assuring that the only form of reference to him could be worship.
