    Umm this is one of the weirdest islamic videos I've seen.

    So is this actually a type of tajweed ? 

    I think that by sunni standards this would be considered blasphemy.

    This is haram. There are specific hadeeths about making it haram to sing the quran. It is not in accordance with tajweed ruled, and the musical instruments are definitely haram. But to be honest, I like it Smiley And I love it for the simple reason that it's so blasphemous in a positive way. Shows that Muslims can get past the puritanical mind-set and make something beautiful out of something that very often is used for everything but nice and good things...

    That's crazy. And kinda cool. I've tried rapping parts of the quran to a hiphop beat before. Surah Nazi'aat works surprisingly well.

    Yeah,  and that's the point. You treat the quran just like anything else. But now they used something "holy" and religious to make it into art and music. Europe did it for hundreds of years.

    I think that is so cool - and I'm sure all the YouTube comments in Arabic show over-joyment with the combination of music, string instruments and UN-covered women's voices grin12

    This is amazingly haram! Music by itself is haram but adding the Quran is simply suicide.

    Muslims have this feeling that joy is only derived from God, martyrdom and paradise. That kind of desensitises you to beautiful things like friends, flowers, dancing, etc. And what kind of human that must be?
