Which is more tolerant, Islam or Secularism? Public debate between popular youtuber and blogger The Rationalizer and Adnan Rashid of iERA.

`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'

"(Allah) is he who has sent his messenger with The Guidance and The True Religion so that he may make it prevail over all other religions, even if the polytheists may hate it."

    Yeah. Sounds pretty tolerant.

Secularism can be anything it wants - tolerant, intolerant, drunk, sober.

    Islam, sadly, can't.

The thing is that secularism by itself doesn't really say if you mean a free society or an authoritarian. My guess is Adnan will spend time on criticizing stalinism and fascism, and he will only have to defend Islam, which is difficult enough.

    iERA are cowards.

They have been crying and whining about wanting an official CEMB vs iERA debate with Tzortzis and maryam namazie but they won't debate TheRationalizer in an official iERA debate because unlike every one else they debated he is actually knowledgeable about Islam.

They only do official iERa debates with people who don't much about islamic theology and jurisprudence because they only want to use those debates as publicity stunts.

In my opinion a life without curiosity is not a life worth living

Do the iERA guys still run on quran and science topic or have they completely stopped?

They have stopped the quran miracles after being thoroughly exposed and have moved onto copying William Lane Craig's kalam arguments and some linguistic nonsense.

And in true iERA fashion, they don't want to follow through. Seems Adnan Rashid is now trying to get out of debating the Rationalizer. Quote from the twitter link.

Unfortunately it is not going to happen. Despite us agreeing a topic + format and him telling me to go and book a venue, Adnan has pulled out with a most pathetically irrelevant excuse. What is it with these iERA guys? They walk around puffing out their chests making challenges, and then back down as soon as I accept their terms.

Here is a Storify transcript of the Twitter exchange.

I said it before, I'll say it again. They will not debate someone actually knowledgeable about islam. Since Adnan Rashid did at first look like he was up for it, I gave them the benefit of the doubt, though of course he had to say he's doing it independently to make sure iERA isn't tarnished, but this shit just reinforces my opinion on the matter. They will not debate someone who is knowledgeable about islam.

I am interested in what the hell is going on in their minds. It's easy to say that they're afraid of debating someone knowledgable in Islam, and that is probably what's at the root of it, but they can't admit that, not even to themselves. They must have a very interesting way of explaining it away to themselves, even though they realize it sounds silly when they actually say it, like, their knowledge of Islam allows them to use cheap tactics to make Islam look bad.

It just as simple as the ends justify the means. I don't think they're really reflecting on the truth of Islam when they see someone easily refute it. They just know that debating a guy like Rationalizer will hurt the image of Islam and therefore them, hence the apprehension.

    how fuck works without shit??

    Let's Play Chess!
