Bumped into islamic evangelists

I was out job-hunting today, and walking through my town's high street I walked into a group of Islamic evangelists, who were speaking to a few people. One of them caught me and started speaking to me, asking what my goal in life was. Being a 17 year old, all I could think to say was 'to raise a nice family in the future'. Anyway the bloke continued and started saying that no matter what my goal was, I will still end up dead. What followed was a 15 minute conversation in which they attempted to prove why Islam is true through logic.
Being an agnostic deist, I was able to counter their idea that everything in the universe is perfect due to their being a creator with the idea that anything that does not work will destroy itself while anything that can work will perpetuate itself. This applies to both living creatures (natural selection) and the physical universe.
At the end, I was just simply saying ''yes'' and nodding my head when I was meant to, and the man suggested to me that I read the Quran again.
