The original webtoon manhua Lookism is simply amazing. I was a little surprised when I found the author is some kind of young Korean celebrity. I really recommend it. It is a perfect balance between humour, and deeper issues like societal hierarchy, bullying, and how we tend to judge people on a mainly superficial level. But also the individual's responsibility to make something out of life, even though life is unfair and we aren't all born with the same opportunities. I like the development of the main character, and how he constantly questions his own actions and the changes (or "non-changes") he goes through. My latest favourite moment was the "Pavlov's dog" chapters. It really made me think about a lot of things...
I really recommend it. I read my manga online (unless it's one of my favourite titles that has been licensed. I'm an idiot who wastes money on comics), and the webtoon is available on most sites.
