    An interesting article. If virgin in fact translates to young woman, then this is another argument for the falsehood of Islam. As Islam without a doubt states that Jesus was born without a father. Therefore this shows how Prophet Muhammad essentially copied and pasted different beliefs and myths from other religions into his own religion.

    No. Muslims would argue that part of the BIble had been corrupted.
    No free mixing of the sexes is permitted on these forums or via PM or the various chat groups that are operating.

    The only thing I can see that would undermine Islam would be if they found whole Surahs carbon dated 200 before the birth of the prophet. Muslims would have to reject carbon dating as a result.

    The virgin birth is probably one of the latest traditions attached to Jesus in the 1st century. If you suspect anything from the Jesus story, the virgin birth should be it. It is based on a fake census, a star that can somehow linger over a house, a contradiction of who was the governor at the time, and a mistranslated prophecy. Also, miraculous births of religious leaders were extremely common at the time. Paul and the gospels of John and Mark don't think it is important enough to mention  Roll Eyes

    Considering the alternative is merely that a young Jewish girl, faced with death for fornication, decided to tell a fib or that the whole story was made up at a later date shows how incredibly contrived this whole story is. Before I would accept the virgin birth I would have to accept the Resurrection, miracles, and statements Jesus makes declaring to be God.

    It doesn't matter what you say, or find evidence for, or what you disprove, the stubborn grip that Islam holds on the majority of it's followers will remain in place. There are already a thousand proofs and arguments out there, that should be enough to dissuade logical minds away from the religion. But these are mostly not logical minds that you are dealing with. They are minds that are closed. They are minds that are high and reliant on their religious drug. They are minds that are in denial, and that will turn to any weak counter-argument or conspiracy to fend off your evidence.

    Most will ignore your evidence. Others will find a ridiculous argument to latch onto. Others still will say that the evidence has been planted by gay American Jewish Freemasons. You will not win many over with your proof. All you can hope to do is add to the mountain of evidence that already exists, in the hope that a few more may join our ranks. One day, those ranks may swell enough to form an unstoppable avalanche. But unfortunately, that day seems pretty distant to me right now.

    I do think it would help shed even more light on just how badly thought up and written the Qur'an is, and how much of a holy book it isn't, but I definitely don't think it would "prove Islam false"(Though I get that you might've had that as the topic for exaggeration's sakes).  Things like the Ramadan Pole paradox, evolution(the only offensive science), the Earth being flat, and more seemingly countless things have already "proven Islam false" to no effect, but all that being said and done, they do help people who already felt that Islam might not be perfect look into things a bit more clearly.

    I recall once reading on some Islamic site that if science disproves something in the Quran, the scientists just have it wrong and haven't tried hard enough yet and will eventually get the right answer.

    Can it be proved wrong? Sure. Will anyone accept it? Only the smart ones, and only if they're honest, and that leaves us with a whole bunch of humans who won't.

    When they discovered that God was not in the sky, He suddenly became outside of space and time. When the Earth was discovered to be billions of years old, the account in Genesis became super mystical and metaphorical. When it was found out Moses did not write the Torah, suddenly the redactors became inspired by God. There is no end to what a believer will do to preserve his or her faith if they really want to believe.

    I forget which sura it is. It is the one where killing one is like killing all of humanity. This sura is lifted from the talmud almost word for word. The Talmud was compiled in 200 AD and 500 AD.

    It's something like that, but word for word and a whole Surah. In this case, it even says that it has already been said before.
