    Ri, I wish I had a mother like yours. Granted, her reaction was far from perfect, but it's light years ahead from what my own mother would say or do if I told her about my apostasy. I think that for a muslim she is quite open-minded and that whatever you do in your life in the future, she will come around and accept it.

    Like I said, I feel worse telling her now since she constantly starts talking to me about Islam. She thinks I'm going through a phase and that she once questioned Islam too. She still wants me to live by her rules (which is kind of the reason I wanted to tell her because I don't want to live fully like she wants me to) and thinks as I get older I'll accept Islam and understand it.

    Oh man. She just had another conversation with me and asked me if I thought people sleeping together before marriage was wrong and I said no I don't find it wrong. Our conversation ended on that note and I walked out the room. Ugh. Cry

    She said she tried to add up everything I've told her, e.g. travelling countries alone, moving out and now telling her I don't believe in God.

    She even told me to go take a vacation to Pakistan yesterday (what a coincidence). I refused.

    Perhaps back track a little? Just a little to get her off your back for now? It sounds like she needs a small victory over you, before she perhaps leaves you alone to find your own way back to the fold. Tell her you'll read into things more and get back to her?
