Having had both on a regular basis, I wouldn't necessarily agree that sex is better than steak.

Really good sex beats the shit out of even the best steak. I mean, its certainly more variable as an experience, but unless of course you're some sort of steak fetishist...  Tongue

    how fuck works without shit??

I don't particularly like the word feminist either, but its the word we have for a supporter of equality between the sexes these days. What are you gonna do? *shrug*

Brits as well mannered? buwahahahaha take it and run, guys. Don't get me wrong, I like the Brits(to a degree), but well mannered they are not   Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I was wondering whether to respond to this one, or the one about British shows being boring.

This might deal with both. Haha.

I think the pertinent word there was "necessarily". I don't want the thought of steak fetishism nooooooo

Wasn't quite the point I was getting at posting it, but in response, as Joss said. "Genderist".

`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'

`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'

Which is like what I said earlier. Muslim women are indoctrinated to get defensive and outraged whenever the issue of sexism in Islam is brought up. Of course, some of them live normal lives and aren't being oppressed by their families, get to choose what they want to wear etc but a significant number of other Muslim women do not have that luxury, and it's wrong to turn a blind eye to them.

Islam can only have a feminist revolution if those Muslim women who constantly defend it wake up and recognise its oppressive nature.

Yes, they're more likely to listen if it's a Muslim woman advocating equality.

They clearly wanted to get rid of him. From experience I have not come across a single polygnous marriage that wasn't a disaster because the wives actually gave a damn about their husbands. As a result the marriage ended up resembling a Turkish drama.

But then again polygny is all about the man's pleasure while women suffer in silence.

It's not like a frown upon polygyny, while thinking polyandry is a better choice.. In all human relationships, there is an element of power dynamics that makes the idea of "consenting adults" a bit more complex than we want to make it to be.

But I still find it highly interesting, and amusing, that polyandry seems to be working fine and thriving in this region and culture. Yet another example of how certain practices seems to be working just perfectly fine despite Islam claiming otherwise.

     Reply #538 - January 14, 2016, 07:27 PM

Yup, the thing with Islamic polygny is that a man can just go out and get a second wife and the first wife doesn't even have a say. Most women are NOT fine with this but since Islam encourages them to financially depend on their husbands and god hates divorce, they usually have no way out.

Well you know what the solution to that is, right? ABOLISH SEX! Remove sexual orientation and biological gender from the human species by genetic tomfoolery and make the entire process of procreation happen outside the human body in vats and free people up to do other stuff besides attempt to gain and maintain as mate.

Or at least that's my idea for how to make the world better...

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for I have a sonic screwdriver, a tricorder, and a Type 2 phaser.
