Hi.
My name is Mohammed(hate it though) and im 23 years old. Born and raised as a muslim in a western country. The netherlands to be specific.
I always doubted religion starting with my former one. Finaly after 10+ years dicided that islam is not my religion. No religion at all to be clear. This must not be a problem in a ideal world, but sadly we dont live in one.
In daily live i have a lot of social contacts. I have a lot of family and friends. But the problem is im afraid to lose a lot of them because of my choise of religion. None.
The second problem is never to find love, because i really like girls from my etnicity and almost everyone doesnt marry a kaffir like me . Its a big taboo to leave the islam in my culture. Im Moroccan by the way.

Welcome. You'd be amazed at how many European-Moroccans feel the same way as you. We've had plenty come and go, in fact one of the founders of CEMB was an English woman of Moroccan heritage. They're keeping quite for the same reason you are.

Thanks for welcoming me. Its sad that we have too keep quite indeed. Its had been a long search to find this forum. So it tells how hard it is. I wish there was a platform where we could meet in real life to share thoughts, discus the meaning of life and stand strong toghether. I really love my roots but hate the ruling belief system, because its very intolerant.

There are plenty of ex-muslims in the Netherlands and Europe as a whole. You'll find them if you look.

The fact that a lot of ex-Muslims are in the closet is probably what makes it seem hard, but they're definitely there and in huge numbers. There must be some sort of organisation/meetup in the Netherlands.

Thank you for welcoming me. Nice to hear about people in the same situation. Wish that i could meet them. But there are litterly no meet ups in the netherlands. I been searching for ages.
There are meet up in churches with ex muslims who converted to christianity, but those guys really try to force believe up on you. Thats not what im looking for.

There are quite a lot of exmuslim Morrocans, though I don't know if they live in Netherlands or not
