Dawah man is really upset that yasir qadhi has turned away from salafism and is now inviting him to turn back from his deviated ways and return to the sunnah.

Here is the video. There are alot of dislikes which makes me think there is alot of overlap between YQ viewers and dawahman fans.

Five Reasons why Yasir Qadhi is wrong.

In the vid there is also a clip of Nouman Ali Khan saying how he had a muslim friend who
was doing his masters in islamic studies at harvard and lost his iman after two semesters in the program so he just stopped thinking about it to remain muslim.

Sounds exactly like what Yasir Qadhi said happened to him at Yale's islamic studies program.

I wonder how guys like that just manage to "stop thinking".    Like how can you ignore these issues when your going to these islamic studies courses at uni and writing exams on those very topics.

Human beings do what's convenient for themselves. Their "morality" is just after the fact justifications.

Well, I decided not to stop thinking and it lead me to apostasy. One of my closest friends seems to have chosen the "stop thinking" path and as far as I know, she's still deep up to her knees. But then again, not sure if she would be able to leave even if she wanted to with so many children married with a salafi with a lot of money and connection. Pretty sure she would lose her kids and not see them for the rest of her life. It has crossed my mind more than once that this is the main reason why she doesn't think, because she knows that it's more convenient to stay put.

The likes and dislikes are pretty much equal with about 1k each. So how come all the comments in the comments section are positive? You would expect that from the like to dislike ratio there would be a balance of positive and negative comments in the comments section

Maybe because people who dislike it don't see the point in commenting or starting a discussion. Or maybe the negative comments are removed?

BTW I remember realizing even as a young Muslim convert that people who overused the wallahi, billahi, uqsim billah ta'ala, were showy people who liked attention more than anything. So they put on this fake persona with all the wallahi billahi and cliched naseehah and comments and phrases we'd heard a thousand times and that had at one point lost its meaning. Keep upon the straight path, give us steadfastness, may Allah guide us. Empty words and incantations. I believe the people who used to repeat them, without putting any type of real mental effort before uttering them, didn't even understand what they truly meant.

So shaikh ustaadh da'awaman can feel sadness for the sake of Allah, and cry tears out of sincerity because Yasir Qadhi seemingly doesn't dress or talk anymore like the sahabah did. And he can of course have gheerah for the deen of Allah, but have yaqeen in the fact that this religion shall prevail despite the enemies of Allah trying to corrupt it. For indeed, Allah has promised the believers that He shall protect and preserve it, walillahil hamd. Whomever Allah guides, no one can misguide, and whomever Allah misguides, can never find guidance.

youtube comments section is notorious as flame war battlegrounds. So it's strange that with many amount of dislikes, negative comments are almost absent

Desi guys seem to ditch their salwar kameezes for thobes when they become religious.

Which is silly because Salwar Kameezes look alot more fashionable than thobes....

I disagree with you, man. I'd take an emarati kandoora any day over a Salwar Kameez. I'm also a fan of the kuwaiti dishdasha with the pleated fronts. I'm not so big on the Saudi thobes though. They tend to be overly tight and I don't dig the collars.

I didn't know different types existed. I was referring to the saudi thobes.

The differences between the different thobes seem pretty minor though.

Which one of those two (the dishasa and kandoora) do you wear most during the summer ?

It all depends on nationality. Traditionally, though, citizens will typically wear white in the summer and heavier, colored material in the winter.

How often do you wear thobes after leaving islam ?

Do you wear them outside doing chores or just in the house ?

I view the thobe primarily as a national type thing, so I scarcely ever wore them out in the States even when I was a Muslim here, save on special occasions like Eid or possibly Jumuah. A good house thobe can be cool for lounging around though.

Mature adults shouldn't be listening to Yasir Qadhi or any other muslims speakers either for that matter.

Dawah man is an idiot but he is not any more idiotic than your standard imam or sheikh.

Hence my comment that you probably won't find mature and intellectual discussions in general in the youtube comments. And in particular for videos like these.

At least Qadhi can appeal for a more mature audience. Dawahboy is plain silly, and it has all to do how they present themselves.

I have yet to see any imam or shaykh recommending athiests to drink their dad's sperm like dawah man did
