  • So the Qur'an encourages the freeing of slaves.

So what makes makes you know what is the difficult pass?
It is the freeing of a slave. (Quran 90:12-13)

For me this is one of the proofs that the quran was written by a man and not a god.

Its clear from this ayah of quran and several hadith that slavery troubled muhammad in some small sense. So he encouraged people to treat slaves well and to free them.

But the giveaway was the fact that he could not see past the norm of the society he lived in to realise that slavery was evil and should be forbidden.  It would be obvious to a real god that slavery is a crime against  humanity and should not be allowed.

But unfortunately the quran was written by a man who could not see past the morality of the community he lived in.

    how very human.

A perfectly just God who sentences his imperfect creation to infinite punishment for finite sins is impossible

hello the Thedarkknight89., I guess in your question, you meant

"So what makes makes you know what is the  difficult passage/verse ?

frankly speaking ., "There is NO difficult passage/verse /quote/statement "  in  Quran  to make it as Allah/god's word.,  let me  put those 2 verses here

    Quote

    12     وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْعَقَبَةُ

Yusuf Ali 12:    And what will explain to thee the path that is steep?-
Shakir 12:    And what will make you comprehend what the uphill road is?

    13     فَكُّ رَقَبَةٍ

    Yusuf Ali 13:    (It is:) freeing the bondman;
Shakir 13:    (It is) the setting free of a slave,

putting those verse together what it says is

    Quote
And what will make you comprehend what the uphill road is?  it is the setting free of a slave,    Quran chpater 90., verse 12-13

Again as usual., not just those two verses of chapter -90 of Qura,   a careful reading of all those 20 verses of that chapter tells any reader that it  is a plagiarist  work  .,  and you will find lot more Plagiarism from OT and NT in  so-called Meccan verses over that Madinan verses.   .let me put whole chapter-90  of Quran here., after all it is just 20 silly simple schizophrenic statements

    Quote
    1-3
Nay! I swear by this city.
And you shall be made free from obligation in this city--
And the begetter and whom he begot.

    4-11
Certainly We have created man to be in distress.
Does he think that no one has power over him?
He shall say: I have wasted much wealth.
Does he think that no one sees him?
Have We not given him two eyes,
And a tongue and two lips,
And pointed out to him the two conspicuous ways?

    11-18
But he would not attempt the uphill road
And what will make you comprehend what the uphill road is?
(It is) the setting free of a slave,
Or the giving of food in a day of hunger
    To an orphan, having relationship,
Or to the poor man lying in the dust.
Then he is of those who believe and charge one another to show patience, and charge one another to show compassion.
These are the people of the right hand.

    19-20
And (as for) those who disbelieve in our communications, they are the people of the left hand.
On them is fire closed over.

and that is whole chapter-19.,  Not just those two statements(verses 12-13)..  over all whole chapter has many good statements all verses from 11-18 are wonderful statements fit for all times to whole humanity

look at that verse-15.,   "To an orphan, having relationship,"...

how beautiful and important it  is., and it is not just for human beings but all animals.. that is far more beautiful/useful a very important verse than those silly "release slave" verses

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjOJmc2aCkI

    Allahlulia ...... Allahlulia ...... Allahlulia ......

So.,  to save.,  to  love., to have  loving  relationship., to feed, to nourish an orphan., or orphan animal ..or say a stray dog., stray cat .. is indeed godly., and  I too say there is nothing in life((or any life) that is better than doing that..

anyways I am glad you opened a folder on  those 2 verses so I could read them

    with best wishes
    yeezevee
