The reason for this tread existing is many people such as my self today found it a little hard to just throw the damn book on the ground.....kind of a mental test

But ya its a bit silly  Wink

Like... throw it in disrespect, or just put it down on the floor? No, I wouldn't throw it. There's no reason for it, and I wouldn't feel OK doing it out of personal reasons. Just putting it down on the floor? Yeah sure, if I was sitting there or whatever. I was never of the opinion that it was haram for the Quran to be on the ground anyway...

Iv had the opinion that the quran is best kept at the highest point in the house out of repect and and the symbolism ect..... when i saw the quran I wanted to throw it on the floor to show how little i cared...but felt a little fear and didnt see the need to be disrespectfull...but then a part of me said that was givining into islam and so i put the quran on the floor which is haram last i checked due to me not having wudu and the floor being unclean and un pure and lowely and the quran being a hight and might sort of thing. Felt good though to hold it first time without feeling your caring something that if you touch/do anything wrong to it lightning may strike you

We had tales shoved down our throats of those who kicked the Quran who then turned into monkeys or snakes or whatever as per Allah's wrath. Good times.

Um, there's blasphemy threads in this forum. I think you'd be pretty safe to assume that people here have no inhibition of putting the Quran on the floor. Grin

Well some may say it's haram, but that was not the opinion I chose nor was taught as "correct". But that's a matter of fiqh. I'm way over the anger I had towards Islam. It's not Islam, it's people. Islam doesn't exist without its followers. I also like the Quran a little bit more than I dislike it :/

what is there to hate it? it is simple faith based upon silly statements of earlier faiths put together in a book   but  in Arabic languages kids can sing it in a wonderful sounds using its words as sonnets and songs

Hello Cornflower., just curious on that ...

you like it now because you can sing a song from Quran
you like it now because you can make song out of those Arabic words Huh?
Or is it because you hated it so much for some time so started liking it now ??

I like it because what it meant for me when I was a believing Muslim. I like it because of all the memories it gives me. I like it because of the soothing recitation, the meaning and message. But I also dislike it because of its silly clim to be the literal word of God, and its at times horrible message. But in the end, it's just a book. It is what people make it to be.

But I also dislike it because of its silly clim to be the literal word of God, and its at times horrible message. But in the end, it's just a book. It is what people make it to be.

I love it hence  I rewrite that

"I like it because what it meant for me when I was a believing Muslim.
I like it because of all the good memories it gives me.
I like it because of the soothing recitation, the meaning and message
    ."

But I hate it because of its silly claims
I hate it because of fools take it as literal word of God,
and I hate it because  at times it has some  horrible message.

At the end, it's just a book.
treat it you treat any book
a book  what people make it to be
use it any way you like
put it anywhere you like .
