For the last few mornings I've been meaning to get up early to take pictures of a nearby body of water at sunrise. It was just for my own purposes - I'm a hobbyist photographer. Every morning when my alarm went off I thought "Eh, I'll do it tomorrow."

This morning when my alarm went off, even as I was drifting back to sleep, I had the following internal monologue:

"Eh, I'll do it tomorrow. I'm comfy and sleepy and it's so cold outside and...

You say that every morning! Get up and do it already.

Well, I'm not sure...I'll just wait till God gives me a sign about which I should do (author's note: I still do this out of habit sometimes)

Hmmmm, well what would a sign be? Maybe if...

Excuse me! You actually do not have that many opportunities to make your own choice in this world. And when you finally get one, you're just going to delegate it to"God" ?! You are smart and rational. You have all the information you need to make the right decision about this, so stop relying on some mystical, external "guidance" and run your own life!"

And so I got up and went out in the cold, dark, morning and took those pictures!

Though it has no bridge,
The cloud climbs up to heaven;

Congratulations, maybe you can share them with us? I'd like to see these photos that took so much willpower to take.

I chose to get circumcised at 17, don't tell me I never believed.
