    It's the same in the states and has always bothered me. Why are depictions of violence less offensive than naked bodies and sex? I can't believe the really graphic, disturbing violence that makes its way into PG-13 films, but if you can see a woman's nipple it's rated R. It's the violence we should be shielding children from witnessing, and encouraging them to see healthy depictions of sex and love. Or at least not acting like it's something to hide. Sex should be seen as normal, and violence as taboo. Not the other way around.

    I read somewhere., American Nudist colonies have far lesser violence and live more peaceful life..

    I'm sure they do! Nudist colonies must almost necessarily have a very open, accepting, nonjudgmental and peaceful atmosphere.

    But what is your opinion on attitudes and depictions of sex and nudity versus violence in films or in general?

    I agree.

    I remember I caught myself thinking a few months back, how awesome it would be if Game of Thrones had less gratuitous sex in it, as my kids would enjoy the show.

    And then I stopped and asked myself, why I was somehow ok with the violence?  why did I think that minus the sex, it would somehow be ok?

    Product of my society that's why  Grin .  Anyway it was a real eye opening moment, recognising myself being as ridiculous as everybody else.  Grin

    Same here, my girls watched the entire series, even the youngest lol and when i sat with them the few times to watch it i was jumping up and down scrambling for the remote control to forward the naughty bits, they thought i was a bit weird and were saying casually mum its ok we know it all, kids today have a much mature attitude towards sex and nudity, im a giant prude always have been, need help lol and dont see the point to putting sex scenes in movies unless the theme is sex or romance, in this case GOT is about that and fits with the times it was set in but there wasnt enough male nudity to balance it out lol !!!
