Yeah I have 500 free condoms, they get used but I don't put them on display!

Presumably you only use the condoms once. I find desktop shortcuts get used more than once.

A desktop shortcut is a misnomer, its still in the same environment, it's a gimmick.

It isn't a gimmick at all. It's a handy direct link to functions you use often.

It does not really exist its an illusion created by virtual reality, so desktop shortcut is a not an accurate term, memory is written on random sectors of the hard-disk which over time gets fragmented, so in virtual reality nothing really has a constant location, it searches the bits to find the right program.

Tut, a simple yes would have sufficed as a response to my question about blithering.

Yes, "bits" don't really exist in physical locations, dude, did you even pay any attention in physics classes? this shit is basic Quantum mechanics, re: Copenhagen interpretation the same principle applies or more spesfically re: schrodinger's cat.

sorry to have to disagree with you there, Os - the way your question was phrased did not permit a yes or no answer, since it offered two alternatives to chose from.  Thread sneaker (can?t help it, am German... I would say, your question didn?t NEED any answer.  Insert evil laugh

When did I ever claim that bits existed in a physical location? The term "desktop shortcut" has a commonly understood meaning which you are pretending to not understand in the vain hope of making yourself appear to be an intellectual. It isn't working. Massive fail. Try again.
