  • The Country of the Blind - is the one eyed man king?

Not sure if anyone has heard of this short story, H G Wells wrote two endings for it one where the one eyed man dies and another where the country of the blind is destroyed!

Are we working to make the one eyed man king?

Some comfort comes as H G Wells second ending give the one eyed man a better end!

Dunno. Which of the current monarchies in the world today has a one-eyed man as heir apparent?

Devious, treacherous, murderous, neanderthal, sub-human of the West. bunny

It is sure that you understood it, but if you did not;  I see the one eyed man is a metaphor for those that have broken the shackles of organized religion.

Why would the one eyed man reveal he could see if the blind would kill him for it? It's best to just play along and rule them so.

I remember that from my youth. But after reading Jose Saramago's book BLINDNESS, I now believe that anyone sighted in a kingdom of blind people would in fact be a slave and a liability.
