    PEOPLE who skip breakfast tend to lose their virginity earlier, according to researchers in Japan.
    In a study of 3000 people, those who did not regularly eat breakfast in their early teens said they lost their virginity at an average age of 17.5, versus an overall average age of 19 for all Japanese.
     
    Those who had a morning meal when they were younger had their first sexual experience at 19.4 years.

    The study, backed by Japan's health ministry, was aimed at finding ways to curb unwanted pregnancies. It concluded that a stable home life discouraged early sex.

    "Those unhappy with their parents - such as for not preparing breakfast - may tend to find a way to release their frustration by having sex," said Kunio Kitamura, head of the Japan Family Planning Association who led the research.

    "If children don't feel comfortable in their family environment, they tend to go out."
     
    Young people who start having sex early tended to miss breakfast because they return home late, he said.

    Japan has one of the world's lowest birthrates as more young people put off starting families, finding them a burden on their careers or lifestyles.

    The survey also found that nearly 40 per cent of married couples had not had sex in more than a month.

    Respondents said they were too tired because of work or found sex to be a pain, according to the study.

    I was not blessed with the ability to have blind faith. I cant beleive something just because someone says its true.

    Sounds like a load of bullshit if you ask me, some kids don't want breakfast, NOT because they are resentful to their parents for not preparing it, but because they are not hungry/morning people.

    I have 2 kids that love breakfast and one that prefers to wait, and its hardly the signs of a resentful child who is going to grow up and go off and have sex earlier than everyone else in revenge that I never made breakfast.  Cheesy

    It's a new thing for parents to worry about: exactly when do you want your kids losing their virginity and how much toast should be fed to them to achieve the desired result? I can see The Nanny contemplating this fascinating and important topic in a new series. parrot

    Damn I always eat breakfast, that explains a lot  finmad   I wish someone had told me when I was 17.5.

    well, we don?t have that many catholic schools in my hometown... one for girls, run by nuns. I went to a state-run all-girls?school, though, were we were almost all catholics, anyway. I think it was chosen for it?s proximity to the train station (had to take the train to school every morning) and it?s focus on languages.

    Ah right, I went to a community school, my parents didn't really care about how well it did, or what it specialised in, it was just close.

    In this area I live in now though, schooling is way different from the slums I grew up in, my children actually have options to private schools with scholarships, it's awesome.  dance

    A bit of tutoring, a test and hopefully voila I can get my kids into the best grammar school around here with all the posh people.  bunny

    Same here Dio lol other kids I am sure looked forward to the holidays, I looked forward to school.  I loved the studying and learning, but it was also better than staying home near my violent parents for long periods of time.
