    Hi Hassan,

I thought you might like this video as it parallels a lot of your views.

    Hi Hassan,

Thanks, Speaklow - I loved it and found it very moving.

    I left this comment:

Great video Amana. I'm ex-Muslim too and made some videos saying similar things, but removed them for various reasons. I can see your new-found faith has brought you happiness as it is written on your face. This coupled with your compassion and respect towards Muslims demands that I take your faith seriously. One point though, I have come across quite a few Christians who can be every bit - if not more - bigoted and hateful towards Muslims. Great video 5 Stars!

I agree with Hassan, but I couldn't help and laugh about her view that Islam is from Satan and she's on a mission to save the deceived Muslims in the name of Christ. I find it amusing that she grew up in a lie and left it to embrace her new "truth", which surely can't be just another set of lies invented by Satan.
If you believe in a mythical being like Satan who carefully crafts fake revelations to inspire aspiring prophets just so he can deceive people, it's needless to say that this view leaves you very vulnerable to criticisms of the particular faith you yourself hold. Who's to say that this invisible confidence trickster hasn't trapped you inside a web of lies? What kind of god would allow that bastard to roam freely anyway? Certainly not a merciful one.
This girl may think she's very sure that Christ is the Truth, and not from Satan, and she probably thinks she can suppport her view with verses from the Bible. Muslims of course won't accept that, and they will have their reasons to think Islam is not from Satan.
The believers will quote scripture to disprove other scripture. It's similar to listening to nerds debate about nitty-gritty details of their favourite Fantasy or Science Fiction Sagas.
I think her conversion has kind of boosted her ego and self-confidence and she wishes nothing more than to convert her relatives in order to attain salvation through faith in Christ. Would be interesting to know what they think about her idea that Islam is from Satan. Don't know how that can contribute to an understanding relationship.

I seriously don't understand why people want to be part of a religion which doesn't acknowledge different paths to salvation. It often has to be the God who acts like a stupid bully who kicks you in your stomach if you don't subordinate yourself to him and don't pay respect and homage.

I remember having an emotional conversation with God a few days ago. It went something like this:

Me: Dear God. Don't be shy. Give me a sign.
God: Very well, you shall hear my mighty voice!
Me: Afro. So what do you want from us oh Eternal One?
God: Hand over your ass to me or suffer dire consequences! It's your choice. I didn't give you free will for nothing.
    Me: Roll Eyes
    God: I'm dead serious!
    Me: Cheesy
God: Yeah, you can laugh as much you want, now. Let's see how you'll do in the fiery pits of Hell.
    Me: lipsrsealed
God: Don't be speechless, I haven't even detailed the horrors of that place yet. You know how many dictators have created concentration camps on your planet in order to eradicate dissidents, races and minority groups?
    Me:  yes
God: Those places are amusement parks when compared to the agonizing and hopeless homes I have prepared for you to dwell in. You won't grasp it with your feeble mind until you witness it yourself.
    Me: Cry
God: Oh my dear creature, don't cry. I could shower you with so many blessings. I'm known as the Merciful and Bountiful almost everywhere.
    Me: whistling2
God: No, I'm not kidding you. You could be so happy and lucky, if only... if only you accepted me in your miserable heart! Wink
    Me: Cheesy
God: Awwrrr finmad. There you again with your condescending attitude! You should be ashamed of yourself!
    Me: Smiley
God: I have given you a sign. I'm talking to you right now, for heaven's sake, will ye believe already!?
    Me: dance
God: Grr. You arrogant little piece of scum! finmad
    Me: Cheesy
God: That's the limit! You shall taste my justice and my wrath in the life to come. How awful a fate!
    Me: bunny

I think I must have missed the "Islam from Satan" comment. But I have since seen another of her videos where she speaks about her father (who is still Muslim) getting ill and she was worried he would die and 'go to hell because he had not accepted Christ'

FFS!!! She escaped Islam to end up believing THAT??? Talk about from the frying pan to the fire!

    What a shame!

Don't put yourself down, it can't be that. Let me watch the video......hang on I take it back.

A pretty woman, yes, but also because she openly acknowledged her allegiance to a specific ahl al-kitab religion. You, however, claim to be a deist/agnostic but are really a deceptive Maronite Christian trying to fool muslims on youtube! Tongue

You talk about being upset by the narrow-mindedness of atheists, by accusing atheists of being Muslim bashers & Islamophobic.

It was a good video, but I would have felt more comfortable if you had made a general statement on non-muslims (including Christians and people from most other walks of life) as they can be equally accused of doing the same thing.

You may have felt atheists have been disproportionately unfair, but this could perhaps be due to the fact that you are active on an ex-muslim forum?  You may have noticed that some of the Islamophobia on this site is also being done by Christians.

I would never even contemplate publicly humiliating another muslim.  I must admit I felt the accusations you were levelling, in effect, almost equated to you doing the same thing, as well as breeding resentment between these 2 groups of people.

I know. Leaving one silly man made fantasy for another seems like such a waste. Maybe she'll come to her senses in the future.

I assume this post was for the lady who made the video - I'm not sure she is reading this forum, but I agree with your comments.

I also told her she was being unfair and that some Christians can be just as hateful and bigoted.

She was definitely being very selective and it was clearly because of the bias she has towards her 'own'.

What a shame that we human beings just can't see things straight.

That's because we do not put on their rational cap. We are blinded by prejudices depending on the 'gang' we are currently associating with.

Standing outside religion now, I can see how I myself used to be biased to one group or ideology just because I wore blinders. This lady has taken off one set of blinders to put on another brand.

Knowing Islam is the only true religion we do not allow propagation of any other religion. How can we allow building of churches and temples when their religion is wrong? Thus we will not allow such wrong things in our countries. - Zakir Naik

I'm thinking it's because she is a woman, and we're not given to great thinking skills so she is no great danger, you on the other hand are a man, meant to be possessed of infinite thinking skills, if those thinking skills took you out of Islam, then you are too great an influence on the male muslims to leave, plus some shcools of thought say women apostates are not to be killed, only male ones.

I thought her overall message was admirable... the fact that just because she is an ex-muslim, doesn't mean she wants to be used as a tool for Muslim bashing.

The 'I just want to save Muslims from their own deception' just made me want to roll my eyes and think '...typical'
