    I like this thread!

never-really-thought-about-it agnosticism ---> my version of Islam --> stricter and stricter islam --> ex-muslim and now I'm just myself! I don't know yet what my beliefs are, or what category name I should give them. Maybe I find out but if I don't I don't worry about it.

Ok NO! Just no. You can't call yourself a member of the "goth subculture" if you are a salafi niqabi. You just can't.

If your a salafi you don't listen to any music and because of the niqab don't do any fashion. If you don't do those two things at all you are not goth.

I'd think a niqab is easily compatible with goth culture; it's black and gloomy, just add some make-up and accessorize and -- bam -- you've got a goth niqabi.

Paganism holds an attraction for me because of the emphasis on seeking to be in harmony with life. Nature worship has always seemed more beneficial to me than the reverence we give to the psychopaths and madmen held up as good examples for humanity.

We're fucking up the planet. Who knows. a rise in paganism may have a positive environmental effect.

hello  "AllPraisetoHarith"   welcome to CEMB., never read you here..

Thank you for the welcome. i joined yesterday. i come over from the exmuslim sub of reddit. i have been seeing links to this forum for months but only recently decided to join in. plus i am used to the forum format as opposed to the comments format over at reddit.

Hmm.. Sun worship., that sounds like you are worshiping future energy source of mankind the fusion of smallest atom..  Fusion is a god thing to worship better than fission.

I have maintained this for a long time that if i was EVER going to bow down to A GOD, it would be the sun. the sun only gives and gives and never asks for anything in return. it wont throw me in hell, it wont ask me to prostrate to it 5 times a day etc etc. and the sun just happens to be the oldest god on this planet worshipped by almost people of every culture on the face of this earth.

years ago, on my to and from work, i would praise her lol. i still do at time when i am out and its nice, suny and bright (living in uk, that happens not too often)

Actually none of the above. a long time ago, i was researching the meaning behind my name Ridwan which i was always told meant 'the keeper of paradise'. i wanted to know the source of this and ended up coming across a book called "The History of al-Tabari Vol. 1: General Introduction and From the Creation to the Flood". this is from the book:

    Quote
"...Iblis belonged to a tribal group of angels called jinn. Among the angels it was they who were created from the fire of simoom. He continued. His name was al-Harith. He continued. He was one of the keepers of Paradise. He continued. All the angels except this tribal group were created from light.."

you can imagine the kind of reaction i had lol

I thought jinns were created from smokeless fire, a separate species to angels? Angles are creatures of no free will created from light, jinns are creatures of freewill created from fire? popcorn

Tabari was trying to resolve a contradiction in the verse where the command is specifically given to angels to bow down to adam and yet Ibliis was singled out for not obeying. so he does makes a distinction between ibliis and the group he was from and the angels by saying he was of a tribal group from amongst the angel who were made from the fire of simoom whilst the angels were created from light.
