Hi!

I have a channel on YouTube, where I post other people's videos with German (and English) subtitles. There's only one video atm with Turkish subtitles (thanks to Zaephon), it's Edward Current's "An Atheist meets God".

Sometimes I have trouble understanding what is said in the video. That's why I created this thread, so that ppl here can help me.

The last one is bullshit. It's the same god. Well, the Jews don't think so as they don't go for the Christian bits of course, but as far as mainstream Christianity goes the OT and NT gods are the same one.

He's talking about the early or original Christians, the Gnostics.

I was just going to say the same thing. However, not all early Christians were Gnostics and not all Gnostics were early Christians. At least some Gnostics differentiated between the God of OT and the God of NT though.

Yeah Gnosticism was one of the ealier Christian sects, but it was by no means the earliest. They believed lots of interesting stuff, but I was disappointed to see that Dan Brown got Gnosticism all wrong.

The Gnostics are really interesting to study. I found it to be kind of similar to Scientology. Or rather, probably LRH ripped some of their stuff off and changed the wording to more sci fi terms.
