Another Miracle from Allah and his final messenger..(Shiites).

لما ولد النبي (صلى الله عليه وآله) مكث أياما ليس له لبن، فألقاه أبوطالب على ثدي نفسه، فأنزل الله فيه لبنا فرضع منه أياما حتى وقع أبوطالب على حليمة السعدية فدفعه إليها.

(When the Prophet was born he stayed some days without milk, so Abu Taleb laid him on his breast, then Allah sent down milk and he got nursed from it for days until Abu Taleb reached Halima Al-Sa'adeyya and gave him to her.)

Al-Kafi by Al-Kileeni, Part 1, Page 448..(Birth of the Prophet)

This reminds me a Yazidi myth that Adam nursed a child with his nipples, who then became the ancestor of all Yazidis. The child was born from Adam's "seed" without any help from Eve.

I found this article on the Yazidi faith. The Bohras also have the story of Abu Taleb nursing baby Mo, my mom told me that story when I was a child. Even when I was very young,I remember finding that story peculiar & somewhat gross .

And yet Muhammad's beloved guardian Abu Talib ended up roasting in hell, according to the hadith of Bukhari. Talk about gratitude.

He was a military commander, he needed someone to make an example of.

Also he did once say in a Hadeeth that if it was his own daughter who had stolen he would cut her hand off himself.

I actually heard of a very bizzare "Islamic" (not sure if it has any basis) tradition that breast milk is the man's semen transformed inside the woman's body. I'll see if I can find the link.

Not sure if that was in Islam - i think it was Arab folklore..
