    Assuming God knows what we will do in the future, why then would he ask Abraham to slaughter his child in order to test his faith? If he knew the outcome of testing Abraham then wouldn't testing him be a pointless objective?

    The only possible argument could be that such "test" is not actually a tool used by God to verify Abraham's faith but a tool used by God to turn Abraham into a truly faithful individual by God's standards.

    So, uhm, God knew Abraham would succeed, but God needed to put him through that in order to make him what he was bound to become, etcetera.

    The concept of "free will" keeps failing, though.
    Do not look directly at the operational end of the device.
