  • Sound not working
     OP - April 25, 2009, 06:08 AM

Okay, I'm totally frustrated right now.

I did a clean install of Windows XP on my PC and got everything installed, including the CD with all the drivers that came with the motherboard (I had my PC custom built). I have the Gigabyte EP45-DS3P motherboard with a realtek sound card. That's all I know.

Anyway, I have the Logitech x 540 speakers which are 5.1 surround sound. They don't come with any drivers or anything to install.

There was absolutely no sound coming out of my speakers. Nada. I have a matrix function on my speakers and when my boyfriend turned it off, there was 2.1 sound. However, I started fiddling with the settings and reinstalled the drivers to get 5.1 sound back, and now I have no sound at all! Not even 2.1.

It's really frustrating...I looked in Device Manager and my sound cards and drivers don't have any issues, no yellow warning to say that it might be faulty. I've tried reinstalling several times with no luck.

They were working fine before, but since my clean install, they don't seem to work. Anybody got any idea what could be wrong?  Huh? finmad

You could try rolling back your sound card drivers.
