The reason I got wound up was because you were being antagonistic and accusing me of being defensive.
Accusing somebody of being defensive is not being antagonistic. I was accusing you of being defensive, as you were the only one on this forum who defended such this pathetic aspect of your culture.
Why would I be defensive over such a trivial matter?
Precisely. I did not know you were an MP, but as you were defending such a ridiculous way of giving a 'gift', I could only think you must be an MP and you were being defensive, as you saw nothing wrong with it. And I was right.
And I also got wound up because I knew where you were coming from. I have met many stuck-up Pakistanis and I know how stuck-up Pakistanis can be. You were saying that Mirpuris are backwards because they give cash as wedding presents rather than physical objects
Where did I say MPs were backwards. Another assumption, that made you jump to the wrong conclusion. Its not the cash giving that is unusual, its the signing and not expecting anyone to bring a gift. Also what makes you think I am Pakistani - is that another conclusion you have jumped too?
And yes, giving money to somebody when they get married is just as bad as female genital mutilation!
Is it - Or are you missing the point again?
