I dare you to go one-to-one with me, Rayback, on whether Hell is a just punishment (as you claim) or an excessively cruel and unjust punishment.

    I dare you!

Do see you the lack of logic in the two bolded statements?

How can they choose the wrong path if god has closed their mind thereby setting them on that road?

    Reply:

God is not cruel as to close their mind BEFORE they have made that choice.

You have the wrong God in mind kid.

I have explained elsewhere that God gives you chance after chance before He finally kicks your ass.

ORLY? I suppose you can back that with direct quotes from the Quran then. Go for it. Show us exactly where it clarifies this point.

Devious, treacherous, murderous, neanderthal, sub-human of the West. bunny

    Reply:

You just dont want to reason do you.

Your hatred for religion blinds you from using even simply logic.

I have explained elsewhere that God gives you chance after chance before He finally kicks your ass.

Why cant you see that simply logic.

    He is a Just God.

I cant put it any simpler than that for you.

Don't you mean 'He is just a god'? You haven't told us how logic might be involved in 'belief'. Would you like to do that before bandying it about again in that careless way?

Religion is ignorance giftwrapped in lyricism.

This is turning into a full blooded debate.

I think we are hijacking Goldie's introduction topic.

I am guilty of it too.  Sorry Golds.

If anyone wants to talk about this issue, I think you should create a special thread for it.

Its not nice to violate Goldie in this way.

    This is her thread.

Hey rayback, if I use bigger and bolder letters than you do does that mean I'm more likely to be right?

No. And I told you why sometimes bold font is used.

Or, was it you who told me?

Rayback, if you accept Hassan's challenge we can create a separate thread especially for you two to debate in.

Welcome Goldie to this side of the fence. As a queer person myself, I can relate to the feeling of wanting to have Islam be more accepting, more loving, more welcoming. I felt that way too... a long time ago. There's the heartbreak of facing the bitter truth that Islam (and religion in general) is all a man-made device, but there's also the exhilaration of freedom once you realize that you are free-er than you had been led to believe. I wish for you the best of energy in your journey ahead. I think you'll find this is just the beginning, not the end. Smiley

     far away hug

It was heartbreaking Allat,  It was like losing a trusted friend.  Thank you for your kind words of support and I hope you are right.

I want to apologise to Nour and awais and any other convert to Islam that I insulted by saying that they were never really muslims.  People are now saying that to me so I know how stupid and infuriating it is.  Sorry.

I know what you mean about losing a trusted friend. I'm still dealing with that loss, so I can tell you that this is just the beginning of another struggle - but you have made a huge leap up - more than many others will be able to do. You are also in the unique position of being able to understand Muslims and why they say the things they do and so you are in a far better position to be able to relate and explain to them some of the fallacies in their thinking.
