Interesting alright. If they get a substantal vote it'd definitely be a worry.

    They get votes because:

    A) Racist people vote for them.

    B) New voters who havnt read the stoptheBNP website may be tricked into voting for their Anti Muslim cover up of their real agendas.

    C) There are lots of stupid people who will vote for them because they dont understand anything about politics or the BNP.

We keep hearing about how Jack Straw or the French government have mentioned the veil and our doing so puts us in the same boat as them. How so? I want a ban on the burka, neqab and child veiling.

The vast majority of people don't understand politics. Party propaganda is geared towards dumb people. Have a look at a leaflet yourself. I'm sure you received some through the post..

I'll be voting BNP anyway.  Ive checked their manifesto, and apparantly they are planning to offer cash incentives to e.g. 2nd & 3rd generation immigrants to leave the country.  Just need to work out my price, and where they're sending me - preferably somewhere with nicer weather, and far away from them  Afro

Are you serious? Send link. I tried going on their website once but it didn't work. Anyway, I thought you didn't want to go on their website?

Who said I went on their website?

Cant remember where I originally read it, but googled it for you and found this "Under its current policy, the party backs an immediate halt to "all further non-white immigration" and the "voluntary resettlement" of non-whites to "their lands of ethnic origin".  http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/1507680.stm

    Hmmmm.... Tongue

The Irish are an "ethnic" lot according to the BNP, and I'm a bit short of cash at the mo.....maybe I should get a cheap flight over and offer to vote BNP if they pay me an exorbitant sum to go home.   dance

Islame , re. the National Front , from what I remember the NF  rather amusingly disintegrated back in the 80's after a schism provoked by the fact that their leadership all turned out to be gay ...maybe some kind of Hitler / Ernst Rohm  tribute ? Around the same time there was an even nastier group called the British Movement ( I once met a black guy who had their symbol tatooed on his arm) , who were linked to Combat 18 who were behind most of the real violence . I'm not sure the BNP are a direct continuation of any of them but I expect a lot of the same people are involved , British nazis being a pretty small group .
It's difficult to know how to respond to the BNP , I think press coverage of  stuff like Griffin shaking hands with Hitlerites IS useful , because some people might be taken in by their new  'moderate ' veneer , but I'm sure I'm not the only one getting a little fed up of the endless stream of mealy mouthed corrupt MPs ( from both main parties) invoking the nazi threat as a reason why we have to ignore their little foibles...

Good point, very good point.  There are, of course, other parties to vote for as a protest against the main ones without resorting to the BNP.  Its stupid to assume that every protest voter is going to throw themselves into the arms of the extreme right.

Agreed . I'm quite tempted to vote Jury Team , but I'm a bit suspicious that they seem to have appeared from nowhere  ,very late in the day

Aife, can't you vote for that flying yoga party, whatever they're called?  They try to achieve world peace through yogic flying.  Which is daft, but no dafter than trying to achieve world peace through bombing and shooting your opponents into submission, really.   wacko

Apparently they're a 'party of Independents ' , in favour of referendums and 'governance ' - their website 's a bit bland . I'd never heard of them until about a week ago when there suddenly seemed to be all these giant billboards all over the place . I just cant bring myself to vote for the impostors claiming to be the Labour party again...

You voted for Labour last time? Why?

And why is everyone talking as if they feel they ought to vote Labour but they're having doubts about it?  Huh?

mainly because the alternative was George Galloway
Plus there are still a handful of decent individuals in the labour party , unlike the other lot - and under our electoral system , only the two major parties have any chance of winning

Perhaps Coservatives will get into power and Lib Dems will be the opposition this time around.

But anyay, what has that got to do with this? That's general elections, the elections on 4th June are European and local elections...

And what's bad about George Galloway? lol...
