    That's a pretty crazy story. I don't know what's crazier-- the fact he did all that in the first place, or, if true, that's he's talking about it on YouTube. I mean, if you wanted to leave that all behind you, seems like posting your story on YouTube, complete with a timeline of events, specific places and names, is a bad way of going about it. I expect he'll be getting a visit from the SIS and CIA now, if he hasn't already, but, more importantly, he might be targeted by his former comrades.

    Not sure what he's thinking, but the guy's got some serious fuckin balls on him, gotta give him that.

    It is a pretty crazy story - The bit about wanting to fight Americans made me wince - I can't relate to wanting to take up arms against anyone.

    Definitely! I always thought the Jihadi types were a bit crazy - and scary - even when I was at my most devout and pious.

    In fact I believe I related the story of a Moroccan friend who became a Jihadi and tried to get me to join - and I was very religious then. I tried to talk him out of it - I took the view (as most around me did) that the Jihadis were extremists.

    This idea that all pious and devout Muslims are Jihadis, fanatics and 'bad human beings' is bullshit - surely you know that?

    I remember when this convert Muslim met up with me in town just to threaten me never to say anything about his relationship with Allah ever again. That scared the shit out of me. All I did was quote a verse from the Qur'an which said something like, if you do so and so then you are not of those obedient to Allah or something like that. I was using it to correct his attitude towards something I can't remember what exactly but he was one pretty extreme Muslim so I guess it had something to do with that. He was scary. I didn't have many clashes with other Muslims over religious matters whilst being a Muslim myself, so it really scared me.

    Or, to use the vernacular of my environment, a not givin a fuck motherfucker.

    Sounds like that one dude who didn't trust him enough to send him to the training camp had it right-- if this story is true and he's sharing all this, it's displaying an amazing lack of discipline and recklessness to post this video. Like I said, maybe he just don't give a fuck, but a guy like that would be a liability to an underground insurgent organization (or a counterinsurgency/counterintelligence organization for that matter). Probably make a great Marine or crazy-ass suicide bomber, though.

    They are certainly fertile soil for Jihadists to grow upon. Some of the nastiest human beings I have met were devout Muslims.

    im willing to give him the benefit of my doubts...

    ...think about this guy; without trying to sound nasty, hes got some real issues. He went from the peace a quiet of NZ to become a radical jihadist...to kill Americans who have done nothing to him.

    Posting his story on youtube is tiddywank in comparison. He may have come away from all the jihad nonsense, which i think is great...still dont mean to say you can take the 'mad' out of the man...

    ....good story though glad he posted for us to hear!

    I was curious what set you off down that path to begin with, because in the vid it sounds like you wanted to fight jihad before you even converted to Islam?

    Hope you don't mind but I'll make a video about that this evening hopefully and post it.  If I don't get it done by then, then I'll just write a post about it instead.  Just that I think it's better if I answer that a little more fully then I would in a few paragraphs.  

    You are right though, I actually approach the mujahideen before I became a Muslim, and they are the ones who "guided" me.

    Well I think there are far more dangerous things one could do with one's life.  No, I don't care, or I wouldn't have done it.  That doesn't mean I'm careless though (at least not in my opinion Smiley)
