It's an Arabic pancake, although I wouldn't say it's the arabic word for pancake in the same way that the English word for pancake covers all pancakes (from scotch to chinese).
It's a specific pancake (almost indentical in shape and texture to the scotch pancake) that is eaten with vanilla syrup and clotted cream. It is disgusting to be frank with you, anyone who doesn't want rotted teeth should steer clear of it.
On topic, maybe this word Qateerah can serve as the Arabic word for "pancake"?
