    Im not sure if I should post the naked woman in a burka picture :(
    We keep hearing about how Jack Straw or the French government have mentioned the veil and our doing so puts us in the same boat as them. How so? I want a ban on the burka, neqab and child veiling.

    It's an Arabic pancake, although I wouldn't say it's the arabic word for pancake in the same way that the English word for pancake covers all pancakes (from scotch to chinese).

    It's a specific pancake (almost indentical in shape and texture to the scotch pancake) that is eaten with vanilla syrup and clotted cream. It is disgusting to be frank with you, anyone who doesn't want rotted teeth should steer clear of it.

    On topic, maybe this word Qateerah can serve as the Arabic word for "pancake"?

    That third photo, the woman without hijab is Asra Nomani, and the photo is from, if I recall correctly, the 'woman-led prayer' that took place in NYC a few years ago with Amina Wudud as imama and khatiba.  There were a few other events after that one, with Nomani taking part that, along with the major one were conveniently organised by Nomani's book  publishers (at the time she had a new book to hawk). 

    Everything is cynical, even this movement.
