So what things are there to do in life (mostly to improve CV but also generally) other than working and studying, for example I'm going to do some voluntary work for cubs.
What other things are there to do/do you guys do?

Learning a new language.  Choose a language, eg French, then purchase or download "How to learn French" audios.  Listen to French radio online, watch French films with subtitiles, make some French buddies, and visit France once in a while.

If you keep it up, you should be fluent in no time.

Learn how to use common software packages to a high level.  Always useful in the workplace, or when you apply for a job.  Looks good on the CV.

Yeah, I do read, especially since it's the summer holidays, I have decided to improve my english. I also like writing when I have time. I go on the interent everyday, most of my life actually :|
I'd like to meet new people, but where?

Lol, for years I've been telling myself, 'i'm going to learn french' I think I need stucture, otherwise basing it on 'when I feel like doing it i will do it' doesn't seem to work.

Tutoring sounds good, abroad isn't really an option for me neither outdoor activities really (because of parents/tradition/religion etc)

That's a good point, I could improve on using databases, although I'm fairly good with excel (which is sufficient enough really) oh actually could work on mathcad. Hmm, thanks!

Need to make a list now of things to do lol.

No, I don't think anyone would willing donate, and there would be no need to, I am happy with what I have Smiley

I'm just not good in the general sense, grammar, spelling mistakes (more mistakes than my friends). I want to improve it for report writing because I'm slowed down by just trying to figure out the best way to word something. Also I like writing stories, I can write a decent story, but not as good as i'd like, not as good as i picture the story. Vocabulary expanding is something I need to do too.

Yeah, I find that so wrong, to be done on a child when they have no choice, typical islam huh? typical most religion. Force you into the religion, recruit and indoctrinate you while you're young.

It's ok though, most girls not mind either ways

Lol, true that's what most say, but these days there's a hint of increasing pressure for scientists to become better communicators. For general collaboration with other academics, but also possibly involving the general public (mostly if you become a famous scientist, but I've noticed its a general trend too).

I currently do nothing interesting in terms of activities.

But I would like to learn a language, a musical instrument, volunteer and set up a small enterprise.

    But all are pipe dreams.

Us physicists? Yep, also have a sense of humour, be it a bit odd. I've had really good lecturers, they've always managed to make the class laugh at least once during each lecture.

I think of running my own business now and then, FinallyFree, when I come up some idea, which usually ends up taken or physically impossible or something

That's the tragedy of my idea, it's simply, easy, non-complex, I have the capacity, facilities and money for it.

    But I am just a non-motivated person.

You might like this, it made the rounds in the classroom during my physics degree:

"Two hydrogen atoms were walking down the street. The first turned to the other and said "I think I lost an electron." The second replied, "Really, are you sure?" The first responded, "Yes, I'm positive!" "

I am no geek yet I chuckled ever so modestly, ergo geekiness=/=the understanding of your joke.
