  • A hypothetical question
     OP - August 17, 2009, 04:26 PM

If you had to live in one Muslim country in the world, which would it be and why?

By Muslim country I mean a country where over 90% of the population is Muslim, so Malaysia and Lebanon don't count.

Personally I'm torn between Pakistan and Turkey.

Take the Pakman challenge and convince me there is a God and Mo was not a murdering, power hungry sex maniac.

     Turkey.

Turkey because it is secular and i'd probably enjoy it.

Good (and difficult) question.  Does Bradfordistan count?

Iran probably.. the educated circles are v. different to our preconception of them and their are a lot of modern atheists who are throwbacks from the shahs era, as well as the rich culture and history that is there  e.g. Maryam Namazie, my dentist (an atheist), and friends who I met at uni, I always tend to get on with them..

Its also a good bet, as I think thing will radically change there during my lifetime..

Kosovo (90 percent Muslim) , at least they have forgotten their religion, and that way I could help oppressed minorities.

    why?

I would choose Morocco because it is a beautiful country, fairly liberal, nice people (beautiful women  grin12 ) best food in the world, climate is good, things are cheap, architecture is awesome etc...

I spent some time there once, and I love the atmosphere, busy, bustling, bit dangerous. Erm, great local produce Smiley

Yes, his face is so ugly that it has character - a bit like Gerard Depardieus.

Am I right in saying he has quite a Turkish look about him?

I do know he's wearing traditional Maniot (part of Greece) clothing and that he has Balkanic features, so he's either Greek or Macedonian.

Anyway, his nose is misshappen but the rest of his face is fairly typical, not too out of place.
