Do You Want to Live Forever?

I always thought I did.

But it depends, really. I wouldn't want an eternity of boredom - that would be Hell.

I guess if there is another world where we do live forever it would be beyond our understanding - and we would be something like the wind and the trees, just 'being' part of the universe.

Fuck knows.

But the Islamic heaven with goblets of wine and houries would get boring.

Or not?

And if there was a hell - I would hate to think of ppl down there!

And eternity blows my mind.

I'd be willing ot give it a go if it was an option. I certainly like being alive. I find it fascinating. I reckon I could handle wine and houris (preferably not the see-through variety) for a while too as long as I got out on weekends or something.

Hmm.. We can never win with muslims and their descriptions. HY says that god has communicated to us through the filter of language and it has limits and boundaries. Hence the reason why it sounds so dull. There really is nothing to try and explain something which is supposed to be out of the realms of reasoning!

I would want to live in my own mind-maybe forever. I completely control what happens and who inhabits it etc.

I am far from a control freak, I just like my imagination. Sometimes I find myself spending hours of the day either in a day dream or a fantasy or something and I really enjoy it, and then I snap out of it and realise that life is shit again.

So-I wouldn't want to live this life on this earth in this body forever like some might, or in some kind of psycho god's backroom, but rather, in my own head.

Sounds wierd, but I like my mind and my imagination (apart from the irrationalities, character flaws, absurdities and craziness), probably the only redeeming feature I have.

I'd love to live forever. I am also contemplating freezing my body so science can bring me back to life when it knows how too, or at least keep my dna so it can be transplanted into another embryo

Why would they? Heaps of people have had their bodies frozen. It's not as though they'd all be novelties in the future. Seen one, seen 'em all.

Again, why? For a start you wouldn't know anything about it. You'd just think you had been born like anyone else. It wouldn't be as if you were adding to your experience or anything. Second point is why use an already viable embryo for that purpose?

Yep, but I hope that with the knowledge that my identical twin had of me, and given that it may turn out to have a similar personality to me (unproven assertion) then at least things that I hold important will be continued from where I left off (this site for instance)

I didn't say I wanted to be drunk.

Anyway if you're going to live forever and be drunk you'll end up being 35,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 and drunk.

I'd like to live forever in a reincarnation sense. I would hate to pass on to some eternal heaven style thing where your greatest thrill is watching the punishment of the damned.

It would be great to come back as different people, and even different species though.
