first thought: WHAT?!

second thought: it never occured to me before, but its a bit annoying to me as an Atheist who never was religious that muslims cant say Mohammeds name without adding all this... stuff.

third thought: Im not a physician, but i think that you need a fixpoint and 2 lines you rotate to actually cause a reverse in a spinning opject. (i hope i wrote this correct in english)
And if the earth will slow down... ammm... there is absolutly no impulse that would make it rotate the other way... actually, the moon wouldnt allow it as far as i know.

Like if you are standing on a car, and it suddenly hit the brakes.
Here is the funny thing, the senario he is putting forward, it would happen slowly...but still be a surprise?

and what "scientists" is he talking about? Nobody says this.

Yes, the roation of the earth is slowing down..... relative to an atomic clock by about 0.002 seconds per day.
For the earth to slow to the point where it stopped it would take over a billion years. As an example, look at venus where a day is as long as a year. But we dont even need to worry about that, because eventually, the Earth's rotation will slow down so much that the bulge will line up exactly between the centers of the Earth and the Moon. When this happens, the Moon will no longer be pulling the bulge back, and the Earth's spin will stop slowing.

To actually change the Earth's rotation, you would need an insanely catastrophic force...Like along the lines of a collision with another friggen planet.

I never realized until now how incredibly insane Muslims sound when preaching about this stuff. I mean, it's easy to make fun of the Christians and say how crazy they sound, but I never realized how crazy the Muslims even look and sound. I mean like without sanity not just 'really stupid'.

I also hate hearing people go 'sallalahu alay'w'sulum' in that super fast 'I speak Arabic' way that people do every.fricken.time.they.mention.Muhammad (LMAO).

I remember listening to a 4 cd lecture by Abdullah Bin Bayah called The Miracle of the Quran. The interpreting was being done by Hamza. It was just a huge whoop of glorification coupled with a familar name drop of a scientist.....KEITH MOORE and the whole thing about embryology. One of the last things he said on the talk was "there is nothing to doubt in the quran" as though it was some sort of reassurance!

I completely agree with you and its annoying when Muslims do that. If someone says S.A.W. two or three times, I don't mind at all, but when one says S.A.W. 262 times a day, it loses all its meaning. Notice when you hear Muslim speakers talk, whenever they say S.A.W. they sound so automated and robotic. Its like they don't even care anymore. Its just a pointless saying after a while.

I had a hard time when they would say that. They would tell you over and over 'There is nothing to doubt int he Quran' and you'd think 'What is wrong with me that I am questioning why Allah's math doesn't add up in these inheritance numbers' or the stuff about mountains or any other thing that is contradictory or unclear. Exactly! This is the problem I had. The reason they is explain why tafseer and hadith is needed is to make sure that "laymen" don't interpret the quran as they wish. Only people qualified in sciences such as "mantiq" and "balagha" etc etc can interpret. This seemed to be odd for something that was a "clear guidance".

i really am not that go with math .... so the earth spin speed is about 1000 miles/hour.... and the Earth's spin is slowing down by about 1.5 - 2 milliseconds per century so can anyone tell me how long would it take to get the earth to stop??
+ the number resulting from the above problem should be less than 5 billion years as the sun will go supernova after 5 billion years .. again i am not good with math so i got it of the web its about 1.9trillion years till earth stops spining so the claim is false the sun is more likely to burn us as a red gaint first

however , if we take the rotation around the sun. The Earth revolves around the Sun at a speed of about 18.5 miles/sec on average as the orbit is not a perfect circle .. but i have yet to know if there is any force that is hindering and slowing down this revolvment around the sun ... so what i think this hadith is talking about is the geocentric model where the sun moves and rises by god's will ... as moses told the pharo , allah makes the sun rise from the east can u make it rise from the west and the hadith that says that the sun goes under god's throne to gain orders to rise again.. ofcourse i could be wrong ..

if anyone can assert this i would be grateful or perhaps expand it !!

OCD? What is the reason they give for doing it?

Sounds on a par to me with someone who has an OCD of, say, having to go back and check they turned the gas off 3 times before they're satisfied - what reason would they give for doing this if asked?

how can the sun rising in the west be a SIGN of future events, as none of us could
possibly be here if/when the world stopped then rotated in the other direction.

their dramatic sermons in front of the mirror before preaching. I wonder if Imams do
