Yes, it is a really brilliant video and so well executed.

It just makes it so clear how stupid religion is.

BTW... to anyone who hasn't seen this video - please watch it - it is a true masterpiece and I bow my head in shame that my videos look so pathetic in comparison. (And the fact that he's so good looking and I'm such an ugly bastard!  grin12)

"No, I really meant it"  grin12 . Reason being that I dont find your videos as one-dimensional - once you get past the "check" and his slightly arrogant style, the video repeats itself.

Your videos on the other hand have the personal & human touch and you put your humour to better use.. so I find your videos are more powerful in relating to your audience and more persuasive, and that my friend is the name of the game..

Whose quote is that, brainyape? The guy who made the video?

Personally I am Agnostic, so I don't dismiss entirely the possibility of some sort of a God - I just think such a thing is unknowable - and I can see that it is perfectly possible to ponder on how ingenious and complex our body is or be brought to tears by a sunset or the night sky and yet not feel that this MUST point to the existence of a God.

It poses a question - for sure. But any answer is ultimately speculation.

No Hassan, it was a user by the name of hermione10663.

Anyway, I think this doesn't point to the existance of Abrahamic God.

Hassan, I technically think the same way as you. I don't have any reasonable doubt about the existence of Allah, Jehova, Elohim, Krishna, Zeus etc., but I do acknowledge that there could be an undefinable, god-like being - with conscience or not - that is responsible for the existence of this universe. I mainly consider this to be a possibility since I'm very baffled about the question of what conscience is. Yet, I like to call myself an atheist, which simply means "without god", and that's how I practically live my life. Why do you label yourself as an agnostic? Do you think people perceive it as a softer word compared to atheism?

    Yes.

Regardless of the technical definition of Atheist and the levels that Dawkins talks about - it is perceived to be a much more definite stance. A certainty that there is no god or cosmic force or whatever.

My position is "I'm certain the Abrahamic God is a fiction, but I don't know if there is something beyond that" - so Agnostic suits me just fine.

I think when people like Dawkins etc talk about God, they are talking about the "abrahamic" or "theist" deity. Which I reject and I certainly hold an atheist position. The "pantheist" or "deist" conception is what I am agnostic about, because those gods are unproven philosophical ideas who don't demand any worship.

The vid is great, needs alteration for the muslims. There is however something that the muslims might jump up and down about though. The gospels are accounts by non eye witnesses but the muslims may claim that the hadith has the science of "Rijaal" and "Isnaad" to back it up. This needs to be undermined first with evidence before a vid for the muslims is made. A good idea is to pit the sunni accounts against the shia accounts as a start. Which one of you guys can attempt to undermine the "isnaad"? IMHO isnaad can be tacked on and names can be made up to produce the effect of an eye witness, but that's merely conjecture on my part and really needs to be backed up. Any suggestions?
